As a Software Quality Assurance Analyst, you\’ll be responsible for the quality of our product, and make sure that our users get the best experience possible. As a core part of our team, you’ll take part in improving the way people find recommendations from their friends, all around the world. You will develop and implement software test strategies/plans, test procedures, test scripts and test cases for various Wajam products.

Responsibilities:

Test Planning:

• Analyze user stories and functional specifications to help ensure the quality of our software from the start.
• Participate in the development of test effort estimates.
• Contribute to building/refining test execution plans

Test Case Development:

• Create test cases based on user stories and functional specifications.
• Design and implement test procedures, test scripts, test cases in collaboration with other team members.
• Represent the QA team in software design discussions.

Test Environment Preparation:

• Install and configure the test environments as required by the various QA assignments.

Test Execution and Result Analysis:

• Test requirements (implicit and explicit), failure modes, quality factors and specifications, provide bug isolation and work closely with the development team to help identify root cause of and resolution of software defects;
• Use a combination of scripted (analytic) and exploratory (heuristic) testing techniques in conducting QA on our products;
• Participate in Bug Triage;
• Assist in the reproduction and follow-up of issues reported from end-users.

Test Reporting:

• Track progress of the testing project, work done, work to go, testing completed, testing to go;
• Ensure the documentation and communication of test results and issues (bugs/improvement) through an issue tracking system;
• Document work-around solutions when a release requires it.

Experience and Requirements:

• University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent program/experience;
• Minimum 1 year experience in Software Quality Assurance working in testing software in commercial software development environment;

Competencies:

• Clear communicator (written and verbal). Ability to communicate with developers and other stakeholders.
• Understanding of how software works so as to be able to break it.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to focus on deliverables to meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude and outlook. A team player.
• Ability to work within a software development team

Pluses:

• Experience in a agile development environment.
• Prior experience with Mobile and Web application testing
• Software development or scripting background of any kind
