Lead QA role based in India (hybrid) with a partner company building generative-AI products supporting the energy transition. The QA Analyst Lead defines QA standards, oversees automated test suites (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, Cypress), and coaches cross-functional teams across India, the UK, and Europe.
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Analyst Lead based in India.
We are seeking an experienced quality assurance professional to lead testing strategy and champion software quality across a portfolio of generative AI (GenAI) initiatives. In this influential role, you will establish QA standards, strengthen automated testing practices, and embed quality considerations throughout the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and engineering leadership to identify risks, improve test coverage, and ensure reliable delivery of innovative AI-powered solutions. Combining strategic oversight with hands-on testing expertise, you will help teams detect issues early and continuously improve their engineering practices. Working in a hybrid environment with international colleagues across India, the UK, and Europe, you will have the opportunity to shape quality culture while contributing to technology that supports the global energy transition.
QA Strategy & Standards: Define, establish, and champion quality assurance standards, testing principles, and best practices across multiple GenAI projects, embedding quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.
Requirements Analysis & Test Planning: Analyze product requirements and feature specifications to determine appropriate testing approaches, coverage levels, and validation priorities.
Automated Testing Leadership: Oversee the design, organization, prioritization, and delivery of automated test suites across the project portfolio, ensuring effective and maintainable testing practices.
Quality Risk Management: Identify and challenge gaps in test coverage, including edge cases, regression risks, integration points, and other potential failure scenarios.
Cross-Functional Coaching: Guide developers and product managers in adopting a quality-first mindset, enabling teams to make informed testing decisions and take greater ownership of product quality.
Quality Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and communicate test health, coverage metrics, defect trends, and overall quality performance to support continuous improvement and informed delivery decisions.
Hands-On Testing & Validation: Develop and execute automated or manual tests when necessary to establish best practices, validate critical functionality, address quality gaps, and unblock delivery.
International Collaboration: Partner with engineering leadership and distributed delivery teams across India, the UK, and Europe to align QA practices, coordinate priorities, and maintain consistent quality standards.
Professional Experience: At least five years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, test engineering, or a related software delivery discipline.
QA Strategy & Test Design: Proven experience defining testing strategies, establishing QA standards, and developing automated testing approaches for cross-functional engineering teams.
Automation Frameworks: Hands-on experience with one or more automated testing frameworks, such as Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, or Cypress.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to understand complex product functionality, identify risks, and determine effective test coverage.
Communication & Influence: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions constructively, influence stakeholders, and promote quality without creating unnecessary friction.
Quality Ownership: A proactive approach to identifying gaps, improving testing practices, and encouraging accountability for quality across development teams.
AI & Modern Engineering Experience: Experience working with artificial intelligence, generative AI, data engineering, or CI/CD pipeline integration is a strong advantage.
International Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with a UK-based Engineering Manager and colleagues across UK and European time zones, with reasonable overlap with UK working hours.
Adaptability: Comfortable balancing strategic QA leadership with hands-on testing responsibilities in a fast-moving, innovation-focused environment.
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time position.
Location: India, with a hybrid working arrangement.
Compensation: Competitive salary package; the exact salary range is not specified in the job description.
