Experienced Python developer needed for a 6-month engagement on a government-led digital transformation project in Hong Kong, focused on legacy system modernization — building and maintaining backend systems and APIs, refactoring and migrating legacy code to modern frameworks, and preparing technical documentation.
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to support a government-led initiative in Hong Kong on a 6-month project engagement. This role focuses on legacy system modernization and system upgrades, contributing to a broader long-term digital transformation project.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.
- Support the modernization of legacy systems through code refactoring and migration to modern frameworks.
- Collaborate with system analysts and other developers to ensure high-quality integration and scalability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems for improved performance and reliability.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and contribute to ongoing system improvements.
- More than 5 years of experience in Python development.
- Solid understanding of modern software design principles and best practices.
- Proven experience in system upgrades, refactoring, or migration projects.
- Familiarity with API development, integration, and automation frameworks.
- Experience working in government or large enterprise environments is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
