Project Manager

Job Description: Project Manager

Location: Remote, US Only

About The Company:

MustardSeed is a project management consulting firm that helps organizations execute complex programs in highly regulated industries. We work alongside clients in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, defense, advanced manufacturing, food and beverage, and other sectors where strong project leadership is essential.

Our consultants become an extension of our clients' teams, providing project and program leadership, PMO support, and execution expertise that keeps critical initiatives moving forward. We are trusted to step into complex environments, build alignment across functions, and help organizations deliver with confidence.

With operations in the United States and the United Kingdom, MustardSeed serves clients across international markets through a fully distributed team. We look for professionals who are collaborative, adaptable, and motivated by solving meaningful business challenges while making a measurable impact for our clients.

About the Role:

As a Project Manager at MustardSeed, you will be contributing to end-to-end project delivery within specified timeframes, budgets, and quality standards. As an experienced project manager already, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes, steering multidisciplinary teams towards common goals.

The Project Manager is the chief “make sure it happens – and happens right” person on the project and has the overall responsibility for ensuring that the outputs from each project phase – the initiation, planning, execution and closing phases – are delivered according to the requirements established and approved for that phase, and that these outputs are consistent across all phases.

You will contribute to a wide variety of different projects while maintaining a focus on project management best practices and stakeholder satisfaction.

Previous projects our team has facilitated include but are not limited to creating a robust integrated master schedule (IMS) for an upcoming clinical trial, identifying, and eliminating bottlenecks in a new product introduction (NPI) process, completing a transformative overhaul of a client’s product lifecycle management (PLM) process, ensuring the successful delivery of a newly acquired software, overhauling a client’s supply chain management (SCM) practices.

This position offers a unique opportunity for flexibility within the traditional rigid 40-hour workweek. Our clients have needs that vary from week to week; your life has variable needs from week to week. We believe those two concepts can coexist beautifully. This is a remote position – supporting customers virtually with rare travel to customer sites.

If you are highly skilled and enjoy challenging, important work while retaining the flexibility your life needs, we would like to talk to you!

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Ensure that communication within and between organizations involved in the various phases is occurring effectively, and that management and other stakeholders are kept informed of progress, as necessary.
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress while managing changes to project scope, project schedule, and project cost.
• Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Perform project risk assessments, including, among others, the risk of exceeding the budget, not meeting schedules, and technology risks.
• Understand, assess, and embed the right delivery methodologies, considering the project and business constraints.
• Utilize appropriate Program Management Best Practices throughout the project duration.
• Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
• Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.

Skills Required:

• Proven track record of delivery, ideally with at least 5 years in a project management role.

• Ability to think strategically and tactically about product, technical, and cross-functional issues.

• Excellent client-facing and internal verbal and written communication skills.
• High-caliber organizational skills (e.g., attention to detail, multitasking, etc.).
• Proven leadership and experience in project management.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) / Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
