Project Manager

Project Manager - Business Change & Transformation

Salary: £46,846.71

Location: South East Wales | SMART / Flexible Working

Contract: Permanent | Full-time

Have you delivered meaningful organisational change? Do you love solving complex problems, bringing people together and seeing the difference your work makes?

Moxie People are delighted to be partnering with a leading, purpose-driven organisation in South Wales to recruit an experienced Project Manager at an exciting stage of organisational transformation.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys a challenge. Someone with the energy, confidence and people skills to bring different teams together, challenge existing ways of working and turn ambitious ideas into practical, lasting improvements.

And here's what makes this opportunity particularly interesting, you don't need experience in social housing.

Our client is particularly keen to hear from professionals who can bring fresh perspectives, new ideas and proven transformation experience from other sectors.

Whether you've worked in the NHS, local government, education, charities, financial services or another complex organisation, it's what you've actually delivered that matters most.

We're interested in the challenges you've tackled, the changes you've implemented, the people you've influenced and the difference you've made.

What will you be doing?

Working as part of a collaborative Programmes team, you'll lead business change and transformation projects that help shape how the organisation operates, supports its people and delivers services to its communities.

These aren't IT or construction projects. They're people-focused business improvement projects that could involve organisational integration, service redesign, customer experience, operational efficiency, compliance, process improvement and introducing new ways of working.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading transformation and business improvement projects from initial planning through to successful implementation.

• Building strong relationships across different departments, bringing people together and creating shared ownership of change.

• Developing detailed project schedules from scratch, identifying workstreams, milestones, resources and dependencies.

• Actively managing project delivery, identifying potential delays and taking practical action to keep things on track.

• Challenging existing processes, assumptions and ways of working constructively, always looking for better solutions.

• Managing project risks, budgets, governance, reporting and benefits realisation.

• Working closely with colleagues, senior stakeholders and the wider Programme Management Office to maintain momentum and deliver shared objectives.

• Making sure projects don't simply get completed, but deliver meaningful, measurable and lasting improvements.

What are we looking for?

First and foremost, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate what they've achieved.

You don't need to have worked in housing, and we're not looking for someone who simply knows project management theory.

We want someone who has been there, faced challenges, brought people together and successfully delivered change.

You'll ideally bring:

• Proven transformation experience: A track record of delivering organisational change, business improvement, service redesign or operational transformation.

• Exceptional people skills: The confidence to build relationships quickly, engage colleagues at all levels and influence people with different priorities and perspectives.

• Strong hands-on project management: Experience personally building and actively managing detailed project schedules, including milestones, dependencies, resources and critical paths.

• A genuine passion for improvement: Someone who gets excited by a challenge, questions how things are done and enjoys finding better ways of working.

• Resilience and adaptability: The ability to remain positive, think creatively and keep projects moving when things don't go to plan.

• Practical problem-solving skills: Someone who can bring structure to complexity without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

• Strong communication and collaboration: The ability to listen, challenge constructively, build trust and bring people along on the journey.

Experience using project planning software and managing project risks, budgets and governance will also be important.

Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APM would be welcomed, but your practical experience and track record of delivery are far more important.

It's as much about you as your experience.

• Our client is looking for someone who will bring real energy and enthusiasm to their team.

• Someone who can walk into a room, quickly build trust, understand different perspectives and get people working towards a common goal.

• You'll know when to listen, when to challenge and how to keep colleagues engaged, even when change feels uncomfortable.

• You'll be comfortable working in an evolving organisation where priorities can shift, challenges arise and there isn't always a ready-made answer.

• And importantly, you'll get genuine satisfaction from seeing the results of your work and knowing you've made things better.

What's in it for you?

Alongside a salary of £46,846.71, you'll benefit from:

• SMART / flexible working, with attendance at the organisation's offices as required.

• 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days following three years' service.

• Enhanced pension scheme, with employer contributions of up to 12%.

• £625 flexible benefits allowance, with options including private medical insurance, health cash plans and professional memberships.

• Enhanced family-friendly policies and health and wellbeing initiatives.

• Opportunities for professional development and career progression.

More importantly, you'll be joining an organisation with a genuine social purpose, where your experience, ideas and enthusiasm can help shape its future and make a positive difference to the communities it serves.
