Garver, an employee-owned civil engineering firm, is hiring a Project Manager in Kansas City to lead transportation and infrastructure projects (rail, roadway, drainage, utilities) from planning through construction support, managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships. Requires a PE license and 10+ years of transportation/civil engineering experience.
Garver is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Transportation Team in Kansas City to continue the tradition of providing reputable service to our clients.
Responsibilities in this position will include:
• Managing transportation and infrastructure projects from conceptual planning through design and construction support for public and private sector clients.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for track, civil, drainage, utility, roadway, and facility-related transportation projects.
• Serving as a primary client contact while developing and maintaining strong relationships with railroads, municipalities, governmental agencies, and industrial clients.
• Coordinating project scope, schedules, budgets, quality control, risk management activities, and project delivery efforts.
• Assisting with preparation of construction documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Supporting business development initiatives through proposal development, client engagement, project interviews, and strategic pursuit planning.
• Mentoring engineers, designers, and technical staff while promoting professional growth and technical excellence.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• 10+ years of transportation, civil infrastructure, or related engineering experience
• Experience managing complex transportation projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills
• Public interaction and stakeholder coordination experience
• Strong working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
Preferred Skills
• Previous consulting engineering experience with a focus on transportation, rail, municipal, or infrastructure projects
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater design, and drainage systems
• Experience developing scopes of work, schedules, fees, and engineering proposals
• Familiarity with rail, roadway, utility, drainage, and site development projects
• MicroStation and InRoads experience preferred
