Eastern Region Shared Services (ERSS)

Lead regional procurement transformation across five councils.

Are you an innovative project leader who enjoys solving complex problems, turning data into insights, and bringing organisations together to achieve better outcomes?

This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the future of procurement collaboration across Melbourne's eastern region. Working across five councils, you'll drive projects that improve procurement practices, identify shared opportunities, develop regional solutions, and help deliver lasting value for local government and the communities we serve.

This isn't a traditional procurement role. We're looking for someone who combines project management, business analysis, stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking to turn ideas into action.

About the Opportunity

As the Project Lead Regional Procurement, you will lead delivery of the Eastern Region Shared Services Procurement Program, working with procurement professionals, executives, governance groups and subject matter experts across participating councils.

You'll analyse data, identify opportunities for regional collaboration, develop business cases and recommendations, and support implementation of initiatives that improve consistency, capability and value across participating organisations.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Lead high-profile projects that span multiple councils.

• Work directly with CEOs, Directors and regional governance groups.

• Use data and analytics to drive evidence-based decision-making.

• Shape future shared service and procurement models.

• Influence strategic outcomes that extend beyond a single organisation.

• Develop innovative solutions that create meaningful regional impact.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a motivated and collaborative professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys creating practical solutions.

You may come from procurement, project management, business improvement, transformation, consulting, data analytics or a related field. What matters most is your ability to lead projects, analyse information, engage stakeholders and drive outcomes.

You will bring:

• Strong project management and coordination experience.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience interpreting data and translating findings into clear recommendations.

• The ability to prepare high-quality reports, presentations and business cases.

• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and governance groups.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

• A continuous improvement mindset and passion for innovation.

Why Join Us?

• Work across five councils on regionally significant initiatives.

• Be at the forefront of shared services and procurement innovation.

• Deliver projects that create real and measurable community benefit.

• Collaborate with high-performing professionals from across local government.

• Enjoy a diverse role combining strategy, analytics, project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

• Build your profile through exposure to executive leaders, governance forums and regional partnerships.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're an innovative thinker who enjoys leading projects, analysing complex information and delivering meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you.
