Located in Livonia, Michigan, spanning 3 facilities (100,000+ sq. ft.) with over 130 employees, Beaver Aerospace & Defense is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for design, development, manufacturing, and assembly of ball screws, actuation systems and other aerospace components.

Summary:
The Program Coordinator leads by example by assuming and supporting division and departmental goals. Initializes overhaul, warrantee and repair for all programs, passing this on to the proper Program Manager where possible. Plans and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications. Other responsibilities include expediting and prioritizing work orders and coordinating and managing daily and weekly status meetings as needed. Lead purchasing activities for the programs assigned, working with materials commodity buyers to accomplish on time delivery of goods and services and ultimately delivery to customers. Reviewing and reporting status of individual orders as required to maintain on-time delivery to customers. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Main responsibilities:
- Coordinates and monitors the work activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as customer service, inspectors, shipping and receiving, machinists and other Program Coordinators.
- Reviews sales orders to obtain production schedules and necessary materials information.
- Reads production schedules and other records and reports, to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Creates, tracks, and closes work orders to support future needs ensuring that all costs have been properly documented on that work order
- Reviews inventory of finished, work-in-process, and purchased components to evaluate against quantities necessary to support customer requirements correcting the Oracle System when necessary
- Solicits quotes for parts and services considering price and required dates to ensure that product requirements and customer shipment dates are achieved.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers, to achieve the highest quality parts and materials at the most cost-effective price while achieving predetermined inventory levels.
- Interface with purchasing personnel on requests and status of raw material
- Confers with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
- Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences making changes as necessary to meet customer delivery dates
- Tracks inventory quantities and adjust inventory records to reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitors all production or repair related work to ensure that workflow, transportation, and production or repair schedules of sales orders are not compromised
- Monitors work for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to comply with standards and specifications at each phase of production or repair process
- Arranges for the delivery and distribution of supplies and components and expedites the flow of materials in a manner that will ensure production schedules are met
- Provides status updates of work orders in progress to appropriate departments and managers when necessary or as requested, to ensure accurate dissemination of work status
- Alters work orders when modifications are authorized by engineering staff and updates related records to accurately reflect these new changes
- Removes scrapped assemblies or components from inventory records to maintain accuracy and determine the impact of current work orders as a result
Our ideal candidate:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s or associate Degree
- A minimum of 5 years of plant level materials management experience.
- Understanding of general contracts, purchasing principles, and policies.
- Ability to excel in a high visibility position.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Applications
- Successful problem-solving experience
- Effective program/project management skills
- Ability to apply math skills and critical thinking.
