Year-round childcare role supervising an elementary Before & After School program in Clay County and a Summer Camp in Duval County. The coordinator develops curriculum, manages staff hiring/training and budgets, and ensures licensing compliance (DCF/HRS, YMCA policies) across sites.
Position Summary:
This is a year-round position that includes direct supervision of an elementary-based Before & After School program in Clay County during the school year and a Summer Camp program in Duval County. Coordinates and implements program-wide quality control procedures and initiatives to ensure uniformity and compliance. Provides leadership and direction in implementation and compliance with HRS guidelines and YMCA policies. Interacts directly with staff, parents and participants at each site. Monitors and maintains licensure requirements at each supervised site.
Essential Functions:
1. Maintains fiscal responsibility for assigned Before and After School and Summer Camp program.
2. Maintains current and accurate knowledge of YMCA programs, training and licensure requirements, association and branch-specific policies and procedures, branch-wide budgetary goals, individual site goals and projections. Remains abreast of any changes in requirements/policies and procedures through regular communication with supervisors.
3. Provides written recommendations to the Program Director regarding training, staffing, and other changes necessary to ensure compliance with established policy and procedures for each site visited.
4. Develops and implements program curriculum, enrichment activities, program schedule, and programming for school’s out care and day camp.
5. Contributes actively to accreditation initiatives through active involvement with individual site implementation and community collaborations.
6. Attends all scheduled key staff and childcare meetings. Leads staff meetings during summer. Serves on year-round Summer Camp Enrichment Committee.
7. Participates in branch-wide events and activities, and facilitates participation from other staff.
8. Uses quality assessment tools to observe, analyze, and improve the quality of childcare programs.
9. Assists in hiring program staff, creates and implements staff development tools to ensure strong staff support, continual professional growth, and maintains current and accurate knowledge of the responsibilities and training needs of staff under own supervision.
10. Works directly with other Program Coordinators and the Program Director in providing recommendations for staff hiring, staff training, and staffing patterns based on direct observations at individual sites.
11. Maintains positive communication and demonstrates a high level of professional ethics through fair and consistent implementation of all YMCA policies and procedures and licensure requirements with staff, program participants, and parents.
12. Builds and strengthens relationships with stakeholders and community partners.
13..Ensures all First Coast YMCA standards and best practices are implemented and followed.
14. Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
15. Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
16. Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.
17. Demonstrates compliance with YMCA Child Abuse Prevention and Abuse Risk Management policies.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma required; degree in childcare or related field preferred.
2. Five years of experience in a supervisory position and aiding staff in professional development.
3. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: CPR, First Aid, AED.
4. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications. Obtains State of Florida DCF credentials required within a year of employment.
5. Works effectively and communicates successfully with children of all ages and abilities, staff, parents/guardian, supervisors, and community representatives. Possesses strong interpersonal skills and is team-oriented especially as it relates to other Program Coordinators and Site Directors in order to best achieve position objectives.
6. Experience in implementing fiscal requirements, interpretation and implementation of licensure requirements and policies and procedures.
7. Plans and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum and related programming.
8. Present a positive image to staff, participants, colleagues, supervisors and the community.
9. Flexible and willing to adapt to changing needs.

Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities, bend, stoop, stand, sit, lift up to 50 lbs.
