Product Owner at Shiji Group in Katowice who owns the direction and delivery of products built on a distributed microservices architecture — mapping service dependencies, shaping a sequenced backlog, defining acceptance criteria, and partnering closely with engineering. Core needs: systems analysis, technical fluency, a quantitative background, and AI tooling fluency.
We are looking for a Product Owner to own the direction and
delivery of products built on a distributed, multi-service architecture. You
will sit at the intersection of business goals and technical execution,
translating strategy into a clear, sequenced backlog that a software
engineering team can build with confidence. This role suits someone who is
highly logical, detail-oriented, and comfortable reasoning about complex
systems where many moving parts depend on each other.
What You'll Do
· Own
and prioritize the product backlog, turning business objectives into
well-defined, actionable requirements.
· Analyze
a multi-microservice environment independently: map how services interact,
identify gaps, surface hidden dependencies, and plan work so that features are
sequenced in the right order.
· Break down large initiatives into deliverable
increments, accounting for cross-service dependencies and technical
constraints.
· Partner closely with engineering, drawing on
your own technical understanding to have credible, precise conversations about
trade-offs, feasibility, and risk.
· Define
acceptance criteria and validate that delivered work meets both the business
intent and the technical requirements.
· Communicate
clearly and consistently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, keeping
everyone aligned on scope, priorities, and progress.
· Use data and quantitative reasoning to inform
prioritization, measure outcomes, and support decisions.
Core Skills & Abilities
· Systems analysis in a distributed environment. Ability to independently analyze a
multi-microservice architecture, identify gaps and dependencies, and produce
sound, well-sequenced plans.
· Technical fluency. Enough technical knowledge and understanding to communicate effectively
with the engineering team, understand system design, and reason about
dependencies and constraints.
· Logical and detail-oriented. A rigorous, structured thinker who catches
edge cases, keeps track of details, and reasons through problems methodically.
· Quantitative
aptitude. A financial and/or mathematical background, comfortable working
with numbers, models, and data to drive decisions.
· Strong communication. Clear, precise, and collaborative when working with both technical
teams and business stakeholders.
· Tooling
and backlog hygiene. Mastery of widely used software development tools such
as Jira/Confluence (or similar) and strong backlog hygiene practices
(refinement, prioritization, definition of ready/done).
Requirements
Requirements
· 3+
years experience working within a software development organization (required).
· Demonstrated
ability to analyze complex, service-based systems and plan delivery around
their dependencies.
· A financial, mathematical, or otherwise
quantitative background.
· Strong logical reasoning and attention to
detail.
· Experience with API-driven, distributed
platforms.
· Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.
· AI fluency is required. Demonstrated
willingness and ability to engage with AI tooling effectively across the
role—from requirements validation and analysis through decomposition and
use-case coverage—while applying sound judgment to its outputs.
Nice to Have
· Background
in hospitality, fiscal compliance or financial systems. We value diverse
backgrounds; what matters most is a logical, detail-oriented mindset paired
with software organization experience.
· Prior experience as a Product Owner or Product
Manager on technical products.
· Familiarity with agile delivery practices.
What We Value
We care less about a single traditional career path and more
about how you think. Whether you come from hospitality, finance, engineering,
or elsewhere, the right person here is logical, detail-oriented, quantitatively
capable, and able to hold their own in technical conversations while keeping
the product moving forward.
