Product Manager

What we're doing

Owning a home is a foundational part of building financial security and wealth in America. However, the tools and technology that support homeownership are antiquated, dependent on things like fax machines, handwritten documentation, and hours of manual review.

We're here to change it.

Vesta was founded to rebuild the mortgage LOS from the ground up. Our founding belief is that the future of mortgage lending will be a fully automated process. Today, our AI augmented platform makes that a reality. Our mission has been to build a platform where AI isn’t just an add-on, but the core engine that transforms how a loan is actually manufactured.

Who we are

Our founding team is no stranger to the complexities of the financial industry. As early employees at Blend, they spent years together focused on creating modern cloud infrastructure for banks to power their consumer experiences. Now, with Vesta, they are transforming the mortgage industry by creating the most flexible, open, and automated origination experience, benefitting financial institutions and their customers.

And, we're not alone.

We've received $55M in early stage financing from top tier investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Conversion Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, and Index Ventures.

We value craftsmanship, boldness, self-awareness, lightheartedness, and a team-first mentality. If this sounds like you and you're excited by the idea of getting in at the ground level and building the infrastructure that will power the future of the financial industry, we would love to hear from you!

Who you are

• You're looking to join a team at an inflection point: the product has product-market fit, and the next few years decide how big it gets. You're willing to work hard to make it big.

• You're proactive and resourceful. You move without being told, figure out what needs doing, and find a way through ambiguity and blockers rather than waiting for someone to clear the path. This is the trait that most predicts success on our team.

• You want to be one of the people who actually delivers real value from AI in an industry that matters.

• You love complex problems, nuanced spaces, and learning from experts (users, customer executives, industry partners).

• You take pride in the dirty work, the nitty gritty, because you know that's what separates truly great products from merely good ones.

• Teammates and customers describe you as "curious" and "humble". In a space as complex and old as mortgage, our customers are the experts. You respect that, and you combine their domain expertise with a firm grasp of technology and user experience to ship robust, elegant solutions.

• You distill complex learnings into crisp, precise insights, especially in writing. Curiosity doesn't build a world-class product if you can't communicate what you learned.

• You're a company builder and team player, excited to shape the product, the team, and the culture as they grow.

• Bonus points if you have worked in financial services and/or on enterprise products.

About the role

Vesta has found product-market fit. Lenders run their business on our system of record, and we're at the point where AI lets us automate work that used to take rooms of people. You'd:

• Own a product area end to end: understand the customer problems, write precise specs, and drive execution with engineering and design

• Become an industry expert, providing the mortgage and business context the team needs to solve the most important customer problems

• Work closely with Vesta's existing and prospective customers to deeply understand their needs and problems

• Shape how AI gets applied to a real, regulated industry

• Help shape the product team and its culture, and Vesta's as well

Note: We don't expect you to have a deep understanding of the nuances of the mortgage process or industry initially. However, success in this role will require a high degree of curiosity, persistence, and willingness to learn the mortgage ecosystem.
