# Production Manager ## Company Overview *Not specified.* ## Job Summary We are seeking a **Production Manager** to oversee the entire order-to-inventory cycle for our Mookuthi collection. The role involves sourcing materials, managing vendors and karigars, coordinating quality checks and certifications, and ensuring timely movement of approved stock into inventory. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, quality standards, and inventory accuracy, contributing to the overall success of our jewelry manufacturing process. ## Responsibilities - Identify, onboard, and manage **karigars** and **vendors**, maintaining a reliable vendor base to ensure consistent production capacity. - Evaluate **vendor performance** based on quality, cost, and turnaround times; renegotiate terms and replace vendors as necessary. - Track **material price trends** and identify cost-saving opportunities for management. - Place **production orders** with karigars based on approved designs, sharing detailed specifications such as SKU, screw/wire mechanisms, stone details, and weight. - Monitor **order status** with each karigar, follow up on delays, and ensure timely delivery. - Coordinate with the **design team** to resolve production-related queries from karigars. - Send finished pieces to **SGL** for third-party quality checks and certification, tracking approval status and turnaround times. - Manage rework processes with karigars for rejected or flagged pieces, resubmitting for approval. - Maintain records of **SGL certificates** for each SKU/batch to ensure compliance and traceability. - Move **SGL-approved stock** into inventory with proper **GRN** (Goods Receipt Note) documentation. - Maintain **SKU-wise stock visibility**, perform regular stock reconciliation, and track slow-moving or excess stock. - Control **shrinkage** and generate inventory **MIS reports**. - Handle **gold/metal reconciliation** and support internal/external audits. ## Qualifications - Hands-on **sourcing/procurement experience** in **gold, diamonds, and gemstones**. - Strong **vendor and karigar management skills** — onboarding, negotiation, and performance tracking. - Ability to coordinate **order placement** and **production tracking** against design specifications. - Experience working with **third-party certification agencies** and managing approval/rework cycles. - Strong **inventory control skills** — reconciliation, shrinkage control, and MIS reporting; working knowledge of **ERP tools**. - Excellent **attention to detail**, especially given the intricacy of nose ornaments. - Educational qualifications: **Bachelor’s or Master’s degree** in **Commerce, Finance, or related fields**. ## Preferred Skills - Familiarity with **mookuthi-specific components** such as screw/wire mechanisms. - Experience in **traditional jewelry production**, especially in **jewelry sourcing, inventory, or manufacturing**. - Knowledge of **cost management** and **vendor negotiation** strategies. - Ability to work collaboratively with design, quality, and production teams. ## Experience - **4–6 years** of relevant experience in **jewelry production, sourcing, or inventory management**, preferably within traditional jewelry sectors. ## Environment - The role may involve working in a **manufacturing or jewelry production environment**. - The location details are **not specified**; flexibility for **remote, in-office, or hybrid work** arrangements may be considered. - The role requires **attention to detail** and the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously. ## Salary *Not specified.* ## GrowthOpportunities *Not specified.* ## Benefits *Not specified.*
