Product Manager - Integrations

About Pleo

Messy spend management is tricky business. And tedious processes are a lose-lose situation for all involved, not just finance. At Pleo, we're changing that. We build spend solutions that make managing money seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike - with a vision to help all businesses ‘go beyond’.

The word ‘Pleo’ actually means ‘more than you’d expect’, and living by that mantra has been the secret to our success over the last 10 years.

Now, we’re at a pivotal moment in our journey; every move we make has a direct impact on our 40,000+ customers, our business, and our collective success. We need people who take pride in uncovering customer needs, who turn complex problems into simple solutions, challenge the way things are done (respectfully), and always aim high. With great ambitions driving us forward, we can’t say we’ve got this whole thing figured out. And frankly, that’s half the fun! What we can say is that we’re a driven, progressive, and, importantly, a kind bunch of 850+ people from over 100 nationalities, all committed to delivering the future of business spending, together.

About the role

As a Product Manager - Integration, you’ll bring hands-on accounting expertise into a product environment to shape integrations that match real finance workflows. You’ll sit in our Accounting Integrations team and help ensure spend data (expenses, receipts, VAT, categories) flows cleanly from Pleo into the accounting systems and ERPs finance teams rely on, with minimal manual work. This is a hybrid role at the intersection of accounting domain knowledge, product thinking and technical partner collaboration, where your judgement will directly influence what we build and how it lands for customers.

You’ll own a portfolio of integrations and partners, turning customer needs and operational edge cases into clear requirements and improvements delivered with internal teams and external developers. Success in this role shows up in higher export success rates, fewer configuration-related issues and integrations that finance teams can trust at month-end.

Who you'll be working with and reporting to

You’ll be part of the Accounting Integrations team, focused on connecting Pleo with the accounting systems and ERPs most used by European finance teams.
You will report to our Group Product Manager from Integrations and will work closely with Product and Engineering to define requirements, make sound accounting decisions and support delivery across many different systems and data models.
You’ll also collaborate with external development partners and ERP vendors building on Pleo’s APIs, acting as a key point of contact to keep implementations on track and aligned with customer workflows.

What you'll be doing

As an Product Manager you will:

• Own a portfolio of accounting integrations and partner relationships, balancing customer needs, partner requests and internal priorities.

• Translate export, reconciliation and month-end close workflows into clear product requirements and integration behaviours.

• Partner with engineers to define data mapping and implementation details across multiple accounting systems, data models and APIs.

• Improve the integration set-up and configuration experience so customers can onboard successfully with fewer issues.

• Act as a trusted accounting domain expert, making pragmatic decisions that improve data quality and reduce manual work for finance teams.

• Support external partners and ERP vendors building on Pleo’s APIs, ensuring alignment on expectations, delivery and quality.

• Track and improve outcomes such as export success rate, adoption/activation and integration-related support volume.

What you bring

Must have

• Practical bookkeeping and finance process knowledge (expense coding, reconciliation and month-end close).

• Strong understanding of how accountants, bookkeepers and finance leads work day to day.

• A solid track record working with product teams from defining requirements through to delivery.

• Experience managing external partners or senior stakeholders and delivering through influence.

• Hands-on exposure to technology in a finance context (for example configuring accounting/ERP tools, working with integrations/data imports, or collaborating closely with technical teams).

Nice to have

• Experience with European accounting and ERP systems, and/or an accounting qualification.

• Partner negotiation experience and/or additional European languages.

• Working knowledge of APIs, data mapping or implementation projects.

Why this role is a good fit for you

This role is a good fit for you if:

• You enjoy bringing real accounting expertise into product decisions and can explain complex finance concepts in a clear, practical way.

• You like owning problems end to end - from identifying the right solution to working with others to ship it.

• You’re motivated by improving workflows for finance teams and can connect day-to-day pain points to measurable outcomes.

This role is not a good fit for you if:

• You want a role where you control delivery directly, rather than delivering through internal teams and external partners.

• You prefer depth in a single system over context switching across many tools, markets and accounting practices.

• You’re looking for a purely accounting or purely technical role, without the “bridge” work in between.

How you'll develop in this role

Within your first 6 months, you’ll build a deep understanding of customer export and reconciliation needs and how Pleo’s integrations behave in practice, then take ownership of a defined portfolio of integrations and partners. You’ll identify the highest-impact improvements to the integration set-up experience and drive them to delivery with internal teams.

Within 12 months, you’ll be a go-to expert for integration and accounting decisions, with measurable improvements in export success rates and a reduction in configuration-related issues. You’ll help launch new or improved integrations by enabling internal teams and partners with the context and clarity they need to deliver well.

Over time, you’ll strengthen your product toolkit (requirements, trade-offs, delivery rituals) and build deeper technical fluency by working side-by-side with engineers on real integration complexity.

Transparency is important to us

Transparency is important to us so we also wanted to share some insights about what we're looking for in applications to ensure you can set yourself up for success!

• CV writing and content: AI can be useful for structure, but generic AI-written CVs often hide your real impact. We’re more likely to engage when you share specific outcomes (for example: “Achieved X, as measured by Y, by doing Z”) and explain the context around your decisions.

• Application care: Our talent team reads every application. Taking a few minutes to tailor your answers and highlight the most relevant examples will genuinely help you stand out.

• Profile to role fit: This role is best suited to someone who can combine practical accounting knowledge with product thinking and proactive ownership. We’ll be looking for evidence that you understand finance workflows like reconciliation and month-end close, can translate those needs into clear requirements, and are comfortable collaborating with technical teams and external partners to deliver high-quality integrations.

About your application

• A fair look for everyone. Our talent team reads every single application to ensure the process is fair. To keep things running smoothly, we only accept applications through our system—our support team can’t pass on calls or emails.

• Diversity drives us. We can only reach our goals if our team reflects the world around us. That starts with you hitting apply, even if you don't tick every single box. We encourage people from all backgrounds and experiences to join us.

• Interview at your best. We want you to feel comfortable throughout the process. If you have any accessibility requirements or need a specific format, email [email protected]. We’ll design a process that works for you.
