Product Designer

🎨 Your role as a Product Designer

You take a product from problem to working solution and own the design from discovery to production. You work inside our clients' product teams alongside other Nitoreans, in engagements that typically last from one to several years. Our clients include some of Finland's best-known consumer brands.

AI runs through your process, from exploring more directions faster to moving from idea to working prototype in hours, synthesising research and working on real code with engineers. You also help clients see where AI belongs in their products and where it doesn't, and how it changes the way their teams design and build.

Beyond client work, you help shape how Nitor approaches AI-native design, from the tools and ways of working we adopt to how we grow AI fluency across our design community.

✅ What could you bring with you?

• 10+ years of relevant product design experience and a track record of shipped digital products, ideally in consumer-facing services, retail and/or e-commerce
• Hands-on experience from a team where AI tools were part of the design and development process and roles were shaped around it, for example designers building working prototypes or contributing to production code
• Fluency in AI-assisted prototyping and coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Figma Make, and a clear sense of when to put them down
• Strong Figma skills. Design systems experience is a plus
• User research and validation skills, including using AI to speed up synthesis without losing rigour
• The ability to work directly with engineers on the codebase, understanding component structure, reading and editing front-end code, and shipping design changes yourself when that's the fastest route
• Solid accessibility skills. You design to WCAG as a matter of course and use AI tools to speed up accessibility reviews and fixes, while knowing where they fall short. Accessibility certifications such as IAAP CPACC or WAS are a plus
• Experience designing products or features where AI is part of the customer experience is a plus, along with a critical eye for when it shouldn't be
• A consulting mindset, meaning you're comfortable facilitating, coaching and building capability in client teams, not only delivering designs
• Professional fluency in Finnish, as many of our clients require it, and fluent English, as a large part of our client teams and our own community work in English
• A portfolio, required with your application, with at least one case where you worked in an AI-native way. Tell us what you did, how AI changed your process or the outcome, and what you learned

🏆 What if you choose us?

We believe that recruitment is not about a company selecting a new employee. Ultimately, you make the choice. And we're here to help you make it.

Get in touch if you want to design products that ship and get used, if you want to shape how design gets done with AI while the answers are still open, and if skilled colleagues, normal working hours and a community that wishes each other well matter to you.

Your work and daily life are also supported by our diverse benefits and opportunities, for example:

• You can use 10% of your work time for professional development
• €7,100 "Hardware Bank" for equipment and home office purchases, replenished monthly
• Full paid vacation days from the start of employment regardless of start date
• €100–2,000 bonus for each certification you complete
• Shared trips, events, and hobby groups from running club to board game club

❓ Do you have questions? Is something on your mind?

We would be really interested to hear more about you. Tell us what kind of step you're taking in your career, and let's see how we could help you. Send us your portfolio together with your LinkedIn profile or CV, and let's talk more about what Nitor could enable for you. You can also ask for more information from our Senior People Partner Janne Järvinen ([email protected]). We want to make sure you get all the information you need to make this important decision.

👥 We listen to you

We want to offer our experts the best possible workplace and support the development of your expertise. At Nitor, it's precisely you, your unique skills, and personal interests that determine the direction of your career.

Design is changing fast, and so are we. You'll join a tight-knit community of over 40 designers and strategy consultants who actively develop their craft together and share what they learn with each other, from tools and methods to lessons from client work. Around them you'll find engineers, architects, data scientists and others who are equally curious about where AI-native product work is heading, and honest about the fact that nobody has all the answers yet. You won't be figuring things out alone: you'll have colleagues to think alongside, share findings with, and challenge your assumptions. Training sessions, events, and conferences keep you at the frontier, and you can use part of your work time for learning new things, developing our design practice, and contributing to the broader conversation around what good looks like in this field.

With us, your career path isn't predetermined. On the contrary, we encourage you to explore your interests without unnecessary hierarchy and bureaucracy.

Our way of working is based on trust, openness, and respect for each other. Every Nitorean brings their own contribution to the company's operations. We value and cherish diversity and the added value it brings to our clients.
