Product Designer

Company:

Mercer

Description:

The Marsh Health Innovation and Technology team is seeking a talented and experienced Product Designer to join our analytics team.
This role will be based in Cluj Napoca. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively with senior leaders, product owners, and developers to design exceptional web and analytics products.

We are looking for a Product Designer who brings a strong foundation in UX — research, systems thinking, and interaction design — alongside solid UI craft. You will work embedded in cross-functional product teams, partnering with Product Managers, Engineers, and domain experts to design experiences that are both deeply useful and visually refined. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing intuitive, user-centered web and analytics interfaces and possess excellent English communication skills.

We will count on you to:

• Collaborate closely with senior leader to understand and translate their vision into compelling designs

• Work with product owners to scope and develop meaningful, user-friendly design templates that align with business goals

• Partner with developers to ensure effective implementation and delivery of design solutions

• Design and iterate on web and analytics product interfaces that enhance user experience and engagement

• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve product functionality

• Maintain consistency in design standards and ensure accessibility and usability across platforms

• Generating user flows and personas to support product design and understanding

• Providing analysis on usage statistics to inform future design decisions

• Communicate design concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical and technical stakeholders

What you need to have:

• 5+ experience in product design, specifically for web and analytics products.

• Strong systems thinker: you see how individual screens connect into flows, and how flows connect into broader experiences;

• Comfortable with ambiguity — able to make progress when requirements are incomplete and iterate as clarity emerges;

• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centric design, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design;

• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, to articulate design ideas and collaborate effectively;

• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar;

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;

• Comfortable working and communicating with non-technical business users in English;

• Ability to maintain discretion and deal appropriately with confidential information;

What can you expect?

• Contribute to products with genuine scale and impact — the experiences you design will be used by hundreds of thousands of employees and benefits administrators globally

• Join a growing design practice within a global enterprise that is investing seriously in design and product capability

• Operate with meaningful ownership: this is not a pixel-pushing execution role — you will shape problems as well as solutions

• Collaborate with colleagues across Marsh's global footprint, with exposure to diverse markets, user contexts, and business challenges

What makes you stand out?

• Understanding of front-end development processes and technologies (particularly React)

• Understanding of the insurance and benefits market

• Experience using Pendo or other product experience and tracking platforms

Why join our team:

• We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders;

• We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create innovative solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients, and communities;

• Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being;

• A yearly budget and the opportunity to build your flexible benefits package (up to 20% of your annual salary);

• 30+ days off (including legal days, birthday, public holiday replacements, and benefits options);

• Performance bonus scheme;

• Matching charity contributions, charity days off, and the Pay it Forward charity challenge;

• Core benefits: Pension, Life and Medical Insurance, Meal Vouchers, Travel Insurance.
