Lead end-to-end design of Applied Intuition's autonomy and command-and-control defense software in Sunnyvale — turning technical constraints into user-centered interfaces via mockups, prototypes, and user research with commercial and defense users, while maintaining the design system and advocating for users.
You will lead end-to-end design from research through launch for complex autonomy and command-and-control software. You will translate technical constraints into user-centered interfaces, create mockups and prototypes, conduct user research, maintain a design system, and advocate for users throughout development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process from concept to launch
- Translate operational requirements and technical constraints into user-centered designs
- Develop high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes
- Conduct user research with commercial and defense personnel
- Refine designs with product management, engineering, and defense experts
- Contribute to and maintain the design system
- Advocate for users throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role for complex software applications
- Bachelor's degree in design or a relevant field
- Experience with automotive products, video game UX, or interactive real-time simulation interfaces
- Portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Communication and presentation skills
- Experience conducting and synthesizing user research
- U.S. citizenship
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
