Lead the Windows Compatibility team to ensure apps and devices work seamlessly with monthly OS updates, using data and AI to mitigate issues and ship high-quality releases.
In this Technical Principal Program Manager role you will be an integral driver for the Windows Fundamentals Compatibility team’s charter. Our job is to ensure that millions of Windows applications and devices “just work.” This sounds simple, but it’s not an easy charter considering that Windows ships feature changes and security updates monthly to billions of devices. Our job as Windows Compatibility becomes more complex as we drive quality and consistency with app and device behavior alongside changes for our retail and commercial customers.
Compatibility is a deep and broad space that offers many opportunities to learn about the complexity of the OS and how applications interact with it. We are responsible for inbox functionality to mitigate issues, we support services to keep in-market Windows devices healthy, and we play an integral role in shipping each new Windows update to the ecosystem. Across all these areas, we invest and deploy AI effectively to meet our goals. This role requires strategic leadership within the Compatibility team, as well as across the organization.
At the end of the day, you will be ensuring that we’re able to ship the full portfolio of Microsoft operating systems at the highest quality and enable our ecosystem of applications and devices to work seamlessly on this OS.
If improving the experience for over a billion users excites you, if you have a real passion to support customers and understand the complexity of the OS, while growing into a leader within a team of dedicated PMs, then please reach out. We’d love to hear from you!
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
