Principal Product Manager, AI Restaurant Experience

**About Owner** Owner is the AI-native system local business owners use to succeed, starting with restaurants. We’re building the system that replaces the many tools owners use to run their business. It powers everything from the restaurant’s website, online ordering, CRM, POS, and more. **Product philosophy** Most small business software makes owners do the work to get what they want: sales growth and profit growth. Owner does the work for them agentically. Our system drives demand, converts it, and helps operators run their business day to day. As it improves, the business improves with it. Using Owner should feel like having a team of great operators, engineers, and marketers working for you. **Our vision** We’re starting by helping independent restaurants succeed online. But it’s not just restaurants that need our help. Most local businesses are struggling with these same problems. Huge technology corporations are taking their customers, bleeding their profits, and making it hard for them to survive. Once we nail the solution for restaurants – we’ll scale it into every other local business type. In the future we envision, tens of millions of local business owners will use our technology to succeed in the digital age. **Our traction** Since 2020, we've generated tens of millions in revenue and processed over a billion dollars of online orders. 1 in 5 Americans have used an [Owner.com](http://Owner.com) website. More importantly, we’ve helped over 20,000 restaurant owners, and saved them nearly $200 million in fees. **Our team** Our team is now in the low hundreds. We’ve got top talent from the most successful companies in SMB software, including: Shopify, HubSpot, DoorDash, ServiceTitan, Rappi, Faire and Stripe. We’ll be scaling even faster in 2026 to keep pace with our customer growth. **Where we work** Owner is a remote-first, global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. For a few of our roles we prioritize in-person collaboration at one of our office locations. Most of our teammates are distributed throughout the globe. Please review the role description and discuss with your recruiter for more details on location! **Why we’re looking for you** Running a restaurant is a constant stream of decisions, exceptions, and tradeoffs. Most restaurant software gives operators more outputs: more dashboards, more alerts, more settings, more reports, and more things to check. Owner is built around a different idea: software should help restaurants achieve outcomes. Our mobile and desktop experiences combine the essential tools operators need to run the business with the intelligence to tell them what matters, what to do next, and increasingly help do it for them. We’re hiring a Principal Product Manager to own and scale this AI-native operator experience for restaurants. You’ll bring together the daily workflows operators rely on, from orders and guest issues to settings, performance, and growth opportunities. The goal is a cohesive product experience that turns signals into clear recommendations, simple actions, and trusted AI-assisted execution. This is a hands-on, forward-deployed builder PM role for someone who wants to be close to the work: in restaurants, in kitchens, in text threads with operators, and alongside our frontline teams. You’ll pair that direct operator intuition with strong product taste and the technical judgment required to ship automation in messy, real-world workflows involving orders, menus, integrations, data quality, permissions, and reliability. This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada. **The impact you'll have** - **Shift restaurant software from outputs to outcomes.** Build experiences that synthesize what matters, explain why it matters, recommend the next best action, and make it easy to act. - **Own the core operator experience across mobile and desktop.** Bring together the workflows restaurants rely on every day, including orders, guest issues, operational settings, business performance, and growth opportunities, into a cohesive product experience. - **Build personalized business guidance.** Show restaurants the value Owner is driving, identify the highest-impact opportunities, and deliver the right recommendation across product, email, SMS, customer success, and AI agent experiences. - **Scale unified guest and order management.** Help restaurants monitor, manage, and resolve reviews, support requests, forms, order issues, and operational exceptions quickly. - **Productize best-practice playbooks into simple actions.** Turn proven operator and customer-success workflows into personalized recommendations, one-tap actions, and safe automation. - **Earn trust in AI-assisted execution.** Design the permissions, confirmations, evaluation loops, rollback paths, and failure handling needed for restaurants to trust Owner with increasingly important work. - **Operate forward-deployed.** Spend meaningful time with restaurant owners and teams — in restaurants, in kitchens, over text, and alongside our support and success teams — to understand what actually happens day to day. Turn that proximity into sharper product priorities, better AI behavior, and products that feel like real leverage for operators. - **Lead through ambiguity.** Align product, design, engineering, data, AI, customer success, and operations around the highest-impact operator outcomes. **What we’re looking for** - **8+ years of product management experience, or equivalent building experience**, with a track record of shipping high-impact products. - **Forward-deployed customer obsession.** You build conviction by getting close to the work: visiting restaurants, observing live workflows, texting with operators, shadowing frontline teams, and understanding how work actually gets done before deciding what to build. - **AI product instincts grounded in real operations.** You think in loops — signals → decisions → actions → learning — and care deeply about quality, trust, and iteration. - **Excellent product judgment and taste.** You can reduce cognitive load, simplify messy workflows, and design products that feel obvious to busy, non-technical users. - **Technical depth and strong engineering partnership.** You can reason about systems, data flows, integrations, permissions, reliability, and tradeoffs. - **Bias toward outcomes over features.** You know how to connect product work to customer and business impact, not just launches. - **Strong prioritization and execution.** You can balance speed, correctness, and long-term maintainability in a fast-moving environment. - **Cross-functional leadership.** You can align opinionated stakeholders, create clarity from ambiguity, and keep teams moving. **Compensation and benefits** - The estimated starting base salary range for this role is $280- $300K, plus a generous pre-IPO equity package - Other benefits include comprehensive health coverage, remote-first workplace, unlimited PTO - plus extra fun perks! **Notice - Employment Scams** Communication from our team regarding job opportunities will only be made by an Owner team member with an @owner.com email address. We do not conduct interviews over email or chat platforms, and we will never ask you to provide personal or financial information such as your mailing address, social security number, credit card numbers or banking information. If you believe you are being contacted by a scammer, please mark the communication as "phishing" or “spam” and do not respond. #LI-AB1
