Contract role (via AAR Consulting Group) with a large NSW government statutory department building a $1.4B public safety radio network. The architect designs and implements a Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric across two data centres, migrates critical applications, and acts as network security SME, ensuring compliance and supporting NOC/SOC teams.
Salary: $1,394 per day inclusive of super (or plus GST)

The Principal Network Security Architect will play a key role within the within the highly technical and collaborative Cyber Security Networks team
Responsibilities:
Complete the detailed design & implementation of a Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric between 2 data centres
Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver on agreed commitments and standards
Migration of critical applications from the legacy network to Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric
Provide an operational escalation to the NOC and the Security operations team
Provide support during and post cutover.
Ensure all projects comply with cyber security best practices and meet relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
Manage stakeholder relationships
Ensure solutions cater for the business requirements.
Act as the Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) within project teams - providing guidance and expertise
Develop and implement network security policies and controls to safeguard availability, integrity and confidentiality.
Skills and Experience:
Experience in the design and implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable networks to support critical infrastructure and applications
Key technology exposure includes routing, switching, Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric, Next Generation firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), Public Cloud and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC).
Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills,
Experience providing design and as-built documentation along with up-to-date network diagrams
Outstanding ability to troubleshoot and manage incidents relating to the migration.
Experience in developing technology roadmaps that align with organisational goals
An ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on ICT, cyber security and cyber risk trends and hold relevant industry certifications.
Must have, or be able to attain a baseline security clearance (Australian citizenship essential)
