Presales Manager

We're looking for an experienced Presales Manager to lead a team of three and help us take our Presales capability to its next stage of maturity. This isn't a role where we're looking for someone to simply become our most senior technical SME.

We're looking for a leader, coach and facilitator who understands technology, understands how Presales works and, importantly, understands the balance required between winning business and successfully delivering what has been sold.

The opportunity

Our Presales team sits at an important intersection between Sales and Solution Delivery. You'll lead the team while working closely with our GM of Solution Delivery to improve the way we approach discovery, solution development, estimating, technical validation, scoping and handover.

Part of your role will be helping us transform the function. That means looking at how we work today, keeping what works, challenging what doesn't and helping introduce better structure, consistency, governance and accountability.

You'll be responsible for

· Leading and developing a team of three Presales professionals.

· Coaching the team across consulting, discovery, solution development, scoping and commercial awareness.

· Creating greater consistency in the way opportunities are approached.

· Working closely with Sales and Solution Delivery throughout the solution lifecycle.

· Mediating between commercial objectives and delivery realities where required.

· Improving solution quality, technical validation, estimating and delivery handover.

· Developing repeatable standards, processes and reusable solution approaches.

· Helping define and execute the roadmap for the future of Presales.

· Ensuring the team has the right technical expertise involved without needing to personally be the expert in everything.

The technology

Our solutions span technologies including Microsoft 365 and the broader Microsoft ecosystem, IBM Power Systems, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity and managed services.

You don't need to be an expert across all of them. You do need to be technically comfortable enough to understand the conversation, ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and recognise when we need deeper technical expertise involved.

Experience with ConnectWise, HubSpot, ITQuoter or ScopeStack would also be highly regarded.

What we're really looking for

The person we're looking for will be comfortable sitting in the middle of Sales and Delivery. In fact, one of the biggest signs that you're succeeding will be that neither team thinks you work for the other one.

Sales should trust you to help them find a way to win good business. Delivery should trust you to make sure what we're selling is understood, properly considered and capable of being delivered.

And when those two objectives don't immediately line up, you'll be someone both sides trust to help find the right answer.

If you're an experienced Presales leader who enjoys developing people, improving how things work and bringing technical and commercial teams together, we'd like to hear from you.
