We are looking for an Electronic Components Purchase Manager responsible for sourcing, negotiating and procuring electronic components from reliable suppliers. The candidate will handle RFQs, quotation comparison, price negotiation, PO creation, supplier follow-up, delivery tracking, alternate vendor development and coordination with Production, Planning, Stores and Quality teams. Candidates should have 5 years of experience in electronic component procurement, good knowledge of BOM and electronic components, strong negotiation skills and ERP/SAP experience.
Job Purpose
The Electronic Component Purchase Executive is responsible
for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely availability of electronic
components required for production, assembly, maintenance, or R&D. The role
focuses on cost, quality, delivery, supplier management, and material
availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase electronic components based on BOM, material
requisitions, and production requirements.
- Source components such as ICs, resistors, capacitors,
diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, relays, connectors, sensors, PCBs, switches, and
wiring components.
- Identify and develop reliable suppliers and distributors.
- Send RFQs and compare supplier quotations.
- Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, lead time, and delivery
schedules.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs).
- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Engineering, Quality,
and Finance.
- Verify part number, manufacturer, specification, revision,
quantity, and approved supplier before purchasing.
- Maintain purchase records, supplier quotations, POs, and
delivery status.
- Monitor stock levels, shortages, excess inventory, and
critical components.
- Develop alternate suppliers for critical or obsolete
components.
- Handle supplier delays, quality issues, shortages, and
replacement requirements.
- Support cost reduction and vendor development activities.
- Track component price changes and market availability.
- Ensure purchased components comply with required quality and
regulatory standards.

1. Material Requirement Management - Review BOM/MRP/indent requirements.
- Check current stock and open purchase orders.
- Identify shortages and urgent requirements.
- Plan purchases according to production schedules.
- 2. Supplier Management
- Search for new suppliers.
- Maintain an approved supplier database.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and
service.
- Maintain alternate sources for critical components.
- 3. Cost & Negotiation
- Obtain multiple quotations wherever possible.
- Compare prices and commercial terms.
- Negotiate for better pricing, MOQ, credit period, and lead
time.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- 4. Technical Coordination
- The Purchase Executive should understand the basic component information such as:
- Part number
- Manufacturer
- Component value/rating
- Package type
- Voltage/current rating
- Tolerance
- Temperature range
- Datasheet/specification
- RoHS/REACH or applicable compliance
- Automotive grade, where applicable

6. Delivery & Expediting
- Follow up on open POs.
- Track committed delivery dates.
- Escalate delayed or critical materials.
- Coordinate urgent requirements with suppliers.
- Ensure production does not stop because of component
shortages.
7. Quality Coordination
- Coordinate with Quality for rejected/defective materials.
- Arrange replacement or credit from suppliers.
- Ensure correct part numbers and specifications are supplied.
- Support supplier corrective actions when required.
Requirements
Education Qualification:-
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication
Engineering (ECE).
Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) is also
suitable.
