Lead the DataLake platform engineering team at NexHealth, building a heterogeneous, multi-modal data lake that ingests, stores, and serves graph-like healthcare data at global scale with fine-grained authorization.
About NexHealth
Our healthcare system remains frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, instant meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you still have to call to schedule a doctor’s appointment and fill out a clipboard in the waiting room?
NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare by connecting patients, providers, and developers. We’re building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to help build and scale our foundational platforms – the healthcare database of the future that no one has yet built.
Your team will tackle some of the most complex and high-impact technical challenges in healthcare: how to ingest, store, and serve intrinsically graph-like data at global scale, and how to ensure that entities only see the data dimensions they are authorized to access. You’ll think from first principles, prototype and productionize novel solutions, and develop a truly heterogeneous data lake that stores the world’s multi-modal healthcare data.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about solving hard, unsolved challenges. No prior experience in health tech is required.
What You’ll Do
- Hire and develop world-class engineers to build an exceptional team
- Support engineers’ career growth through clear feedback, mentorship, and leadership development
- Establish and uphold high technical standards through sound processes (e.g., architecture reviews, testing) and strong engineering culture
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to define and execute long-term platform roadmaps
- Drive execution and collaborate across teams to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years leading high-performing engineering teams with a proven track record of innovation
- 10+ years of total industry experience in software engineering
- Exceptional people leadership skills with experience coaching and developing engineers
- Deep experience delivering large-scale, foundational infrastructure systems
- Strong judgment balancing engineering velocity with long-term technical quality
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across Product, Sales, and Customer Success
- Demonstrated success defining and driving technical and organizational roadmaps
- A builder mindset with experience scaling teams and systems in fast-paced environments
- Strong ownership and initiative in ambiguous, evolving contexts
- Bias for action and data-driven decision making
- First-principles thinking applied to technical and organizational challenges
- Deep care for people development and team health
- Alignment with NexHealth’s values and mission
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Our Values
- Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers. - Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace. - Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses. - Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication. - Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster. - Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.
