- This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor, working directly with employees, solving production challenges, and keeping operations running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- The Plant Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee daily production activities, workforce performance, safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while working closely with plant and operations leadership.
What You'll Do
- Supervise day-to-day manufacturing and assembly operations to ensure production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Lead, coach, and support production employees and frontline team leads.
- Coordinate daily staffing, work assignments, production schedules, and priorities based on customer and operational requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators including safety, quality, labor productivity, scrap, equipment uptime, on-time production, and cost efficiency.
- Identify production bottlenecks and workflow issues and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them quickly.
- Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and provide hands-on leadership to employees.
- Reinforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor product quality and ensure established quality standards and procedures are consistently followed.
- Partner with maintenance personnel to address equipment issues, minimize downtime, and keep production running efficiently.
- Support materials planning, inventory control, receiving, cycle counts, and proper material rotation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, standard work, root-cause analysis, and kaizen.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and audit-ready manufacturing environment.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and development of production employees.
- Promote strong employee relations and help improve attendance, retention, accountability, and overall team performance.
- Communicate production results, staffing concerns, equipment issues, and operational challenges to plant leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience, including progressive leadership or supervisory responsibility.
- Previous experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Experience leading hourly employees in an assembly, production, or light industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, labor management, productivity, quality, and safety.
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and manufacturing safety practices.
- Experience tracking production metrics and using data to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Familiarity with inventory control and manufacturing workflow.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies .
- Comfortable/strong Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and employee-development skills.
- Spanish skills are a plus.
