At CBI Surrey Fleetwood, our Customized Recovery & Return-to-Work Program provides individualized, goal-focused support to help clients recover from injury or illness and safely transition back to work and everyday activities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, clinicians develop personalized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on each client’s unique needs, functional abilities, job demands and recovery goals. The program focuses on building confidence, improving function, developing strategies to manage symptoms and gradually increasing activity and work tolerance, with ongoing collaboration between the client, employer and healthcare team to support a safe and sustainable return to work.
The treatment team and the injured worker will develop an individualized, goal-oriented treatment program which addresses medical, physical, functional, psychosocial and vocational issues. It is the team’s responsibility, with input from the WorkSafeBC officer, to determine the treatment components required to overcome the identified recovery and return to work factors to assist the Worker in:
- Achieving return to work and/or increased function, and
- A safe, sustainable taper of opioid and sedative-hypnotic medication use.
