ROLE OVERVIEW

As a PeopleXD Payroll Consultant within our Eaton Square practice, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll implementations on the Access Group PeopleXD platform. You will lead client engagements from requirements discovery through to go-live and hypercare, translating complex payroll rules into precise system configuration while managing client expectations with commercial awareness. This is a delivery-focused role for a consultant who combines deep payroll knowledge with a structured implementation mindset.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Implementation Delivery

• Lead client discovery sessions to gather detailed payroll requirements, facilitating workshops from end-user to C-level stakeholders.
• Design and configure PeopleXD Payroll modules, translating business rules into system settings including pay calendars, approval workflows, and internal controls.
• Produce high-quality functional specifications and configuration documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver implementations in line with Access Implementation Methodology (AIM), managing workstreams proactively to maintain time and budget.

Data, Integrations & Reporting

• Support data migration activities including preparation and validation of migration templates to ensure data integrity.
• Configure reporting tools to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency for clients.
• Support integrations with third-party finance systems and external applications, with exposure to SFTP and API-based connectivity.

Testing, Parallel Runs & Go-Live

• Plan and execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and provide structured UAT support, including end-to-end payroll parallel runs.
• Lead payroll parallel run validation, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure payroll accuracy before cutover.
• Manage cutover activities, go-live execution, and post-launch hypercare, ensuring a stable and confident transition for each client.

Adoption, Optimisation & Commercial Awareness

• Deliver training to HR, Payroll, and operational teams, ensuring high system adoption and client self-sufficiency post go-live.
• Identify optimisation opportunities and support clients through quarterly PeopleXD platform releases.
• Proactively recognise additional sales and upgrade opportunities, liaising with account managers to ensure client needs are met.
• Support the transition to post-go-live managed services, contributing to long-term client relationships.

YOUR PROFILE

We’re open on background. If you’ve been processing payroll in-house and want to move into consultancy, or if you already have some implementation experience and want to deepen your platform specialism, we’d like to hear from you. We’ll provide structured training on PeopleXD and our delivery methodology — what we can’t teach is payroll knowledge and a genuine interest in helping clients get it right.

What You’ll Bring

• 1–3 years of payroll experience, whether in-house processing, payroll administration, or a junior implementation or support role.
• Working knowledge of UK and/or Irish payroll legislation, including PAYE, statutory payments, and payroll controls.
• A methodical, detail-oriented approach — someone who takes accuracy seriously and follows issues through to resolution.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain payroll concepts clearly to people who aren’t payroll specialists.
• Comfortable working with data and confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice to Have (but not expected)

• Any experience with PeopleXD, CoreHR, or another SaaS payroll platform — even as a super-user or system administrator.
• Involvement in a system implementation, UAT, or parallel run, even in a supporting capacity.
• Exposure to payroll reconciliation, GL mapping, or reporting.
• Irish payroll experience.
• SQL or report-writing skills.

WHAT WE OFFER

• A highly stimulating and fulfilling work environment with international development
• Rapid career growth with numerous opportunities for development (horizontal & vertical): international mobility, training, and certification
• A good work-life balance with telecommuting possibilities
• Investment in the development of our employees; quarterly team events, annual seminar etc.
• We are Happy at Work certified and continue to listen to our employees. If you value a culture that respects diversity, individual courage, integrity, excellence and encourages team collaboration, HR Path is the place for you.
