We are looking for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join our People & Culture team in Mount Waverley. This will be a fixed term contract till the end of June 2027.
Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely end-to-end payroll services while providing knowledgeable and responsive support to team members and leaders.
Working within a large and complex payroll environment, you'll gain exposure to multiple pay cycles, Awards and Agreements, time and attendance, statutory requirements, reporting and reconciliations. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to payroll system improvements, automation and broader projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay cycles, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Manage payroll transactions including wages, allowances, deductions, bonuses, leave, new starters, employee changes and terminations.
- Interpret and apply relevant Awards, Agreements, employment conditions and payroll legislation.
- Maintain accurate employee data across payroll and time & attendance systems, ensuring strong data integrity and confidentiality.
- Respond to payroll enquiries from team members and leaders, investigating and resolving issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.
- Support month-end activities, reconciliations, statutory payments, reporting and audit requirements.
- Partner with People & Culture, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent payroll information and processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and automation, and contribute to payroll-related projects and system enhancements.
You are a detail-oriented payroll professional who takes pride in getting things right and delivering a great experience for employees.
You will bring:
- 2+ years' experience in payroll, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Hands-on experience processing payroll end-to-end across multiple payroll cycles.
- Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment standards.
- Experience interpreting Awards, Agreements and employment conditions.
- Experience using payroll and time & attendance systems.
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
