IT Analyst (data engineering) working for banking client Nordea via B2B Network: elicits and documents business requirements, designs data models and near real-time data pipelines, and performs quantitative data analysis. Core stack is SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL) and dbt, with AI tooling such as Copilot and LLMs.
Detailed description of work task to be carried out
Eliciting requirements (functional and non-functional) by collaborating with different stakeholders in a complex environment. Our vision is to go beyond requirements and understand purpose
Interacting with product owners and stakeholders to clarify, elicit, and translate requirements into implementation specifications Communicating effectively both orally and in writing to align the wide range of stakeholders on shared objectives
Data mapping, data modeling and solution design
Contributing to solution design, maintainability, and architecture of applications
Designing near real-time data pipelines
Performing quantitative data analysis to understand identified issues, and explaining implications and recommending solutions
Collaborating with developers and test engineers
Engaging with many different stakeholders. The person we are looking for is communicative and has skills to build relationships
Taking responsibility for requirements documentation (including use cases) and quality improvement
Accessing complex and distributed datasets and performing statistical analysis
Promoting analytical excellence by influencing colleagues, challenging assumptions/old ways of working, and promoting best practices across teams
Must-have knowledge and experience
Proven experience in designing data intensive solutions
Knowledge and hands-on experience in the banking industry
Understanding of the importance of requirement elicitation techniques and analysis
Expertise in ensuring that business requirements are translated into functional and non-functional specifications
Experience with AI (Copilot, LLM, and agentic solutions) and the ability to drive new ways of working in our ambition to adopt AI to deliver faster and more automated solutions
Excellent skills in SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL)
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, and experience with international collaboration with different stakeholder groups and cultures
Experience with Snowflake and Dbt
Understanding of practices like domain-driven design, event-sourcing architecture patterns, microservices architecture, and clean code
Experience with scalable data products and the concept of removing barriers for users in becoming data driven
