NodeJS - Senior/Lead Software Development Engineer

At Globe, our goal is to create a wonderful world for our people, business, and nation. By uniting people of passion who believe they can make a difference, we are confident that we can achieve this goal.

Job Description

As a NodeJS Senior/Lead Software Development Engineer, you won’t just be writing code—you’ll be shaping the technical future of our platform. You will serve as a technical pillar for the team, balancing hands‑on development with high‑level architectural decisions and mentorship.

Life in Globe

You will be part of a social community aiming to work together in a corporate environment. We value and maximize the interactions between our engineers and members during those days we are on site.

Technology in Globe

Technology in Globe varies from virtual machine‑based to containers, Kubernetes, and anything you can imagine in between. As a Ka‑Globe developer, you will get to work in different settings that will enhance your overall technical skills from development to designing contributing to your professional growth. The development squads and tribes in Globe aim to keep up with the ever‑evolving technology from productizing an application up to heavily customizing them for internal use. Aside from the generic Frontend/Backend development you will also get the chance to showcase your skills in innovating certain operational aspects of maintaining an application by developing scripts that elevate the tedious tasks we do; if you want to be the jack‑of‑all‑trades but hey! we don’t discriminate against those who are looking to specialize in certain technology aspects, we can create a specific path just for you!

Responsibilities

• Architect & Scale: Lead the design and evolution of high-performance, distributed cloud applications that define our core services.
• Technical Leadership: Partner with product leaders to translate complex business requirements into elegant, scalable technical roadmaps.
• Engineering Excellence: Set the gold standard for code quality, security, and performance through rigorous peer reviews and by championing best practices across the elite squad.
• Infrastructure Strategy: Oversee our CI/CD philosophy and cloud infrastructure, ensuring our systems are not just automated, but resilient and cost‑optimized.
• Orchestration Mastery: Drive our containerization strategy using Docker and Kubernetes, moving beyond using tools to optimizing them for global scale.
• Mentorship: Act as a force multiplier by coaching junior and mid‑level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical curiosity.

What You Bring To The Table

• Track Record: 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, specializing in the delivery of large‑scale, production‑grade systems. Proven leadership as a Senior Engineer, successfully guiding teams of developers to ship high‑impact software.
• Polyglot Proficiency: Must have expert‑level mastery in NodeJS, with the ability to choose the right tool for the specific architectural challenge. Nice to have: Python.
• Cloud Authority: Deep, under‑the‑hood experience with AWS or Google Cloud. You don’t just use cloud services; you understand their limitations and cost‑performance trade‑offs.
• System Design Expert: You’ve successfully navigated the complexities of microservices, distributed systems, and data consistency at scale.
• Operational Ownership: You have a “you build it, you run it” mentality, with deep experience in observability (Prometheus/Grafana) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).

Advanced Bonus Points

• Platform Engineering: Experience building internal developer platforms or tooling that improves the entire department’s velocity.
• Serverless Visionary: Experience migrating monolithic or traditional microservices to event‑driven, serverless architectures.
• Security Champion: A background in DevSecOps, including automated security scanning and zero‑trust architecture.

Why You’ll Lead Here

• Impact at Scale: Your decisions will directly influence our technical debt, developer experience, and product success.
• Autonomy: We trust our Leads to own their domain. You’ll have the freedom to experiment with new technologies and steer the stack.
• Growth Environment: We don’t just provide resources; we provide a platform for you to establish yourself as a thought leader within the industry.
• Hybrid Freedom: A culture built on trust, allowing you to manage your time and your team in a way that maximizes both output and well‑being.
• Work setup: Hybrid (3x onsite, 2x WFH)
• Day shift
