A postdoc research role in Boulder, CO developing photonic hardware and experimental systems for quantum measurement or optical AI. Day-to-day work covers designing, modeling, fabricating, and characterizing optical devices, building laser/integrated photonics setups with cryogenics and electronics, and writing Python for data acquisition and analysis.
You will develop photonic hardware and experimental systems for quantum measurement or optical artificial intelligence. You will design, model, fabricate, operate, and characterize devices and optical systems; write Python for data acquisition and analysis; document procedures; and present technical results.
Responsibilities
- Develop physical hardware and experimental systems
- Design, model, and fabricate devices and systems
- Write Python code for data acquisition and analysis
- Construct and operate laser optical systems, integrated photonics, cryogenics, and electronics
- Document results and procedures
- Communicate results through conference presentations and peer-reviewed papers
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics or Photonics, Quantum Science and Engineering, or a related field received within the last five years
- Laboratory experience
- Python programming knowledge
- Dedication to safe operation of laboratory equipment
