You Are
You bring 8+ years of network engineering experience with a proven track record designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale enterprise networks that serve global organizations. Your expertise spans the full stack of network infrastructure including routing, switching, wireless, security, and data center technologies, and you have operated at a senior or architecture level where your decisions directly impact network strategy and business outcomes.
You possess deep technical knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, SD-WAN, and MPLS, and you have designed redundant, scalable network architectures that balance performance, security, and cost. Your experience with Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, and Zscaler platforms is extensive, and you have led implementations that required careful planning, cross-functional coordination, and minimal disruption to production environments.
Automation is a core competency for you. You have built network automation solutions using Python, Ansible, and Terraform that standardize configurations, reduce deployment time, and improve operational consistency. You understand how to leverage REST APIs and configuration management tools to create repeatable, auditable processes that scale across distributed environments.
You share knowledge effectively, guide less experienced engineers through complex troubleshooting scenarios, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and business stakeholders has been critical to your success in senior roles.
At Synopsys, you will apply your expertise to a global network infrastructure that supports semiconductor innovation and AI-driven workloads across a 30,000-person organization.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and architect enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, data center, wireless, and security infrastructure that support a global workforce and AI-driven workloads
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot production network infrastructure using Cisco, Aruba, Versa, Palo Alto Networks, and Zscaler platforms in multi-site environments
- Build and maintain automation workflows using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs to standardize configurations, reduce manual intervention, and improve deployment speed
- Lead the implementation of SD-WAN, EVPN/VXLAN, and DMVPN architectures to optimize connectivity and scalability across distributed sites
- Monitor network performance and security posture, analyze packet captures to diagnose latency, packet loss, and application-layer issues, and drive resolution
- Develop and maintain network documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, security policies, and operational runbooks
- Mentor network engineers and cross-functional IT teams, sharing knowledge on complex protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and automation best practices
The Impact You Will Have
- Enable seamless global connectivity and secure access for 30,000 employees, ensuring the network infrastructure scales with business growth and AI infrastructure demands
- Reduce network incidents and mean time to resolution by implementing proactive monitoring, automation-driven deployments, and standardized configurations
- Accelerate deployment cycles by building reusable automation frameworks that eliminate manual configuration errors and improve consistency across environments
- Strengthen security posture by designing and enforcing network segmentation, zero-trust access policies, and firewall rules that protect critical IP and customer data
- Improve network observability and troubleshooting speed by implementing AI-driven analytics and telemetry tools that surface issues before they impact users
- Drive a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the network team, raising the bar for how problems are solved and knowledge is shared
- Align network strategy with business objectives, ensuring infrastructure investments support product development velocity and operational resilience
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, with several years in a senior or architecture-focused role designing and supporting large-scale enterprise networks
- Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, EVPN/VXLAN, SD-WAN, and MPLS in multi-vendor environments
- Deep experience with network security technologies and protocols including IPSec, IKE, GRE, TACACS, RADIUS, 802.1x, NAC, and EAP-TLS
- Proficiency with network automation and configuration management tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, OpenStack, and REST APIs
- Extensive hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting Cisco routing/switching, Aruba wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, and Zscaler secure access platforms
- Strong packet analysis skills using tools like Wireshark or tcpdump to diagnose root causes of performance degradation, latency, or connectivity failures
- Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts as they apply to network operations, including familiarity with AI-driven anomaly detection, predictive analytics for capacity planning, and how large language models can assist with configuration generation and troubleshooting workflows
- Certifications such as PCNSE, ZIA/ZPA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent work experience are a strong plus
Who You Are
- You can explain a complex BGP routing decision or firewall policy conflict to a non-technical stakeholder in two sentences without losing the nuance or oversimplifying the risk
- You do not wait for a crisis to automate. You see repetitive manual tasks and build scripts, playbooks, or workflows that make the next deployment faster and more reliable
- You are comfortable working after hours to support maintenance windows, upgrades, or critical incidents, and you plan those windows with enough detail that they rarely go sideways
- You stay current on emerging technologies like AI-driven network operations, machine learning for anomaly detection, and large language models, and you think about how they apply to real infrastructure problems
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join a global network engineering team responsible for designing and supporting all network services across Synopsys, including LAN, WAN, data center, remote access, wireless, and firewall security. The team values collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence, and you will have the opportunity to mentor engineers, lead architecture initiatives, and shape the future of network infrastructure at scale.
