We are seeking an experienced and motivated Network Engineer with strong technical skills, hands-on networking experience, and excellent customer-facing communication abilities to join our Secure Networking & Collaboration Practice! The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on-site at customer locations throughout the New York tri-state area and must have strong hands-on experience working with Cisco networking technologies. You will work closely with our customers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver projects from inception to implementation.
This position requires frequent on-site work at customer locations throughout the New York tri-state area, potentially up to five days per week. Candidates must be able to travel to customer sites throughout the region. Relocation assistance is not available. Work location, on-site requirements and travel expectations may be subject to change based on customer requirements, business needs, and operational priorities.
Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in day-to-day network operations and administration based on customer needs
- Collaborate on projects including design, and implementation, light solution architecture
- Develop and document network solutions based on project requirements and established standards
- Directly execute the configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of network solutions with minimal supervision of senior team members
- Deliver customer presentations as requested
- Interface with customer IT contacts as well as third-party vendors
- Document operational processes and procedures to optimize support and management of deployed systems
- Engage effectively with other team members and vendors
- Be proactive in identifying and fixing potential problem areas
- Provide after-hours support for scheduled activities including nights and weekends as required
- Obtain and/or maintain technical skills and certifications required to meet the requirements of our clients
- Assist with non-networking related engineering and operational customer obligations as needed
- Must have access to and be able to provide your own transportation to travel to customer sites and perform on-site support duties throughout the assigned territory
- All other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Ability to run client engagements from inception to completion (including design, configuration, implementation, post-cut support, etc.)
- Strong Experience deploying and managing LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies
- Experience with Cisco (Switching, Routing, FTD, controller wireless); Palo Alto and Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP) experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge in implementation and troubleshooting Cisco Nexus, Catalyst
- Working knowledge of other enterprise class switches (L2/L3), routers, load balancers and firewalls
- Proficient in network routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot VPNs
- Working knowledge of network, storage, virtualization, and compute across multiple vendors is a plus
- Experience with diverse environments
- Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers as well as work after hours and weekends
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 4+ years administrating enterprise environments with 24x7x365 uptime requirements
- Minimum of 4+ years deploying and integrating solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on industry experience
- Prior experience working in Professional Services for an IT Consulting company preferred
- Industry technical certifications in Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto preferred
Salary range: The compensation range for this role is expected to be $110,000-$145,000 annually. Final offer will depend on experience, qualifications, location and other relevant factors.
