Network Engineer

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that’s energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently – we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it.

About your team:

At Centrica Energy, our mission is to move it.

We’re energy movers by nature. We’re a global renewable energy trading company which helps move energy from source to use – powering businesses, homes, and societies as they transition to a new sustainable energy future. If the idea of working to create a sustainable energy future also moves you, we may very well be the right place for you.

Reliable infrastructure is the backbone of modern energy trading. In this role, you will help keep business-critical trading and operational environments secure, resilient and connected across key technology hubs in Denmark.

You will join a strong, collaborative infrastructure team with an exciting future ahead, as we evolve our private cloud foundation and move further into hybrid cloud and broader cloud transformation.

About the Role

As a Network Engineer, you will operate and improve the private network infrastructure supporting trading, operational and data centre environments. The role combines hands-on engineering with operational ownership, with direct impact on performance, security, resilience and compliance.

In this role, you will:

• Operate, optimise and maintain private network infrastructure across routers, switches, firewalls and connectivity services

• Support Cisco ACI and data centre networking platforms, helping ensure resilient and scalable services

• Configure and maintain Cisco Firepower platforms, supporting secure segmentation and policy controls

• Troubleshoot incidents in business-critical environments and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations

• Contribute to infrastructure projects, including SCADA-related upgrades, network design improvements, private cloud evolution and hybrid cloud enablement.

What You Can Expect from the Team

You will be part of a skilled and supportive team where people share knowledge, take ownership and help each other succeed. We work close to the business, which means your contribution will be visible and directly connected to services that matter every day.

• A collaborative team culture with room to ask questions, challenge ideas and learn from experienced engineers

• Real ownership of critical infrastructure, not just ticket handling or isolated tasks

• Exposure to modern infrastructure topics, including private cloud, hybrid cloud, automation and secure connectivity

• The chance to work on systems where reliability, security and performance have real business impact

• A future-facing agenda where the team is actively shaping how infrastructure supports cloud transformation across Centrica Energy.

About You

You enjoy working where reliability, performance and security matter. You bring strong hands-on network experience, curiosity about how systems connect end-to-end, and a practical approach to solving complex problems.

You take ownership, collaborate well with others and care about delivering solutions that are technically sound, secure and fit for a fast-moving business-critical environment.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will:

• Have solid hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and Cisco Firepower, including routing, switching, firewalling and day-to-day operations

• Understand access networks and Cisco ISE, including identity-based access and secure connectivity

• Understand enterprise and data centre networking, including segmentation across IT and OT environments

• Be able to design, build and operate secure branch office networks globally

• Have experience with on-premises data centres and resilient infrastructure services

• Be comfortable working across compute, storage, virtualisation and Linux-based environments

• Approach troubleshooting with structure, curiosity and attention to detail

• Ideally bring exposure to automation, scripting, SCADA, OT or regulated industries

• Collaborate across the wider Centrica Group global network community.

You will be part of a team that values ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement — with the opportunity to help shape the next generation of our private and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
