About the role
The Network Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure and reliable network infrastructure for our organization. This role ensures the optimal performance of our customers' IT infrastructure as well as the protection of their data and systems from cyber threats through hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and proactive network monitoring.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement secure network architectures
- Install and configure network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
- Proactively monitor network performance and identify potential issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security incidents
- Perform scheduled maintenance, software upgrades, and security patches
- Implement and manage network security solutions (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, etc.)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Respond to security incidents and investigate breaches
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures
- Maintain comprehensive documentation in network and security configurations, procedures, and incidents
About you
- Familiarity with customer environments in Hospitality, Manufacturing, and Education
- Deep understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing protocols, etc.) and security principles
- Proficiency in firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN technologies
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools
- Knowledge of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including clearly explaining technical concepts
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in network and security roles
- Experience managing customer environments
