We have an opportunity for someone to join our Maintenance Team, as part of this team you will be responsible for servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures as well as to attend to breakdown maintenance of engineering equipment or plants using discretion and independence.
The Maintenance Engineer will ensure that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably. It is vital that maintenance is conducted on time and to the highest of standards for the Operations departments to run efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide technical input into maintenance work, sometimes crossing functional boundaries
· Work within a workshop or factory environment, sometimes working in noisy, dusty, oily environments, at height and outside in all weathers. The use of PPE is essential.
· Be reactive by providing first-fix repairs on complex, manufacturing equipment, ranging from injection moulding machines, metal working machinery, electrostatic painting processes and automated production lines.
· Conduct all planned maintenance on time and to the highest of standards.
· Communicate with supervisors and managers, providing feedback on learnings to foster continuous improvement.
· Complete modifications, installations and upgrades in addition to fault finding in the eventuality of machine breakdowns.
· Ensure that health & safety practices, legislation and Company procedures are always adhered to.
· Develop communication routes with supervisors and managers, providing feedback in relation to maintenance work.
· Feedback on learnings and provide solutions to prevent future breakdowns,
· Provide introductory training to new employees.
· Ensure attention to detail, rectification of error and cost control are considerations when engaged on maintenance work, errors could have serious impact.
· Create maintenance procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
ABOUT YOU:
· NVQ level 3 in either; electrical, mechanical or multiskilled maintenance or formal specific technical qualification.
· The successful candidate must have an electrical bias
· Desirable; BS 7671:2018, 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations
· Demonstrable experience working in a manufacturing, maintenance environment with both planned and reactive activities of complex equipment and machinery.
· Excellent fault finding and diagnostics skills with an awareness of appropriate health and safety regulations.
· Previous experience in working with injection moulding / metal-working machinery, electrostatic paining processes and automated production lines would be an advantage
· Desirable; Licensed to drive a range of lifting and access equipment.
· Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate verbally.
· Ability to provide technical advice and guidance into all aspects within area of expertise.
· In depth understanding of relevant regulations, within area of expertise, with ability to interpret technical documentation.
· Accurate recording and good observational skills, with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
· Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge.
This role is on a continental shift pattern of 2 days 0600-1800, 2 days of 1800-0600 followed by 4 days off
