Wordsmith

Wordsmith is building the legal operations platform for in-house teams, and we are growing fast.

We believe in-house legal is becoming one of the most important functions in the AI era. Every business is moving faster, but legal work is still too often scattered across inboxes, chats, documents, and disconnected systems.

Wordsmith brings that work into one system. Requests come in from across the business, AI agents handle the routine, lawyers stay in control where judgment matters, and every step is captured as work happens.

We are built for in-house legal, not law firms. Our goal is to help legal teams move faster, reduce unnecessary external counsel spend, and become a function the business can run with.

More than 500 companies, including Financial Times, Safelite, Trip.com, Canva, Starling, and Sage, use Wordsmith. Backed by $100M from Index Ventures, General Catalyst, Highland Europe, and others, we are building one of the defining companies in legal AI.

Why this role is different

Motion is one of the fastest ways to show people what Wordsmith actually does.

A strong product animation can communicate more in 30 seconds than a long case study ever will.

This is a founding motion role. You’ll define how Wordsmith moves, feels, and tells product stories through video. You’ll build the systems that let us scale high-quality output and shape how the market experiences our brand.

If you care about craft, speed, and work that directly drives growth, this is a rare opportunity.

The Role

We’re hiring a Motion Designer to own video and motion across Wordsmith.

You’ll create launch videos, feature announcements, social assets, and product storytelling that turns complex workflows into clear, compelling narratives.

You’ll work closely with Design, Growth, Product Marketing, and Founders to bring ideas to life quickly and at a high standard.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one.

What you’ll do

• Create launch videos, feature announcements, and product animations

• Turn abstract workflows into clear visual stories that land quickly

• Build a motion system of templates, transitions, components, and export standards

• Produce social content, event openers, conference loops, and sales enablement assets

• Partner with writers, designers, and producers from concept to final delivery

• Help define how motion supports brand, growth, and product storytelling

• Use AI tools to improve quality, speed, and creative range

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of motion design experience, ideally in-house at a product or technology company

• Strong reel of shipped work you can talk through clearly

• Excellent taste and high standards for craft

• Strong narrative instincts — you can simplify dense ideas visually

• Ownership mindset — you’re comfortable building a function, not just executing briefs

• High initiative — you spot gaps and move before being asked

• AI-first mentality — you actively use modern tools to increase quality and output

• Advanced skills in After Effects and Figma

• Comfortable in Premiere for editing

Bonus:

• Rive, Lottie, GSAP, or web motion

• 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender

• AI video tools

• Experience building reusable motion systems or libraries

How we work

We’re an in-office team. We work together because it helps us move faster, collaborate closely, and produce better work. You should expect to be in the office as your default in your chosen hub.

This is a high trust environment. You’ll have real ownership, clear responsibility, and room to shape how things are done.

We care about pace, but also craft. The standard matters.

This role suits people who want responsibility, autonomy, and visible impact.

What you can expect

• Ownership of motion at one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI companies

• Real budget and mandate to build the function properly

• High-impact work seen by customers, prospects, and the market

• Close partnership with a senior marketing and design team

• Competitive salary and meaningful equity

Why Wordsmith

We’re growing quickly, shipping fast, and building products customers genuinely need.

There is huge demand, strong momentum, and no shortage of meaningful stories to tell.

If you want your motion work to influence brand, pipeline, and product perception at scale, this is a strong place to do it.
