Motion Designer - Mobile Games (Freelance)

Homa is a global mobile game developer and publisher creating games people love. We partner with studios and internally develop games, having launched over 80 titles, reached over 2 billion downloads, and seen our game All in Hole break into the global top-50 grossing charts. These are milestones, not the finish line.

With deep expertise in product and technology, we built Homa Lab, our proprietary platform that gives developers the market intelligence, data tools, and game tech, with AI built-in, to find product–market fit fast and scale mass-market games into lasting experiences players enjoy for years.

This is our flywheel: Homa Lab helps studios spot the right ideas early, turn them into games quickly, and reach millions of players. Every launch brings back data and insights that fuel the next hit, making each turn of the loop faster, smarter, and more likely to win. AI supercharges this process, running through everything we do, from everyday tasks to our guiding principles.

What powers the loop is talent density. 220+ people from 30+ nationalities, bringing expertise from the world’s best studios and companies. We uphold ambition, curiosity, humility, and focus, and deliver with speed, excellence, and candor. Since the start, we’ve raised $165M from Headline, Northzone, Eurazeo, Bpifrance, and the founders of King, Sorare, and Spotify, people who’ve built and backed the games and platforms we admire, now supporting our drive to create the next ones.

At Homa, we are building the next billion-player experiences from the ground up and shaping the future of entertainment.

Contract setup: This is a long-term, full-time opportunity. While we are looking for someone to join the team on an ongoing basis, the contractual arrangement will be B2B/freelance only.

The opportunity

You'll join the creative team and report to a Creative Producer. Day-to-day, you'll work with creative developers and other motion designers to produce UA video ads and playable creatives for our games. This is a hands-on, high-output production role. You'll be measured on the volume, speed, and craft of what you ship, and on how much your AI workflow lifts the team's output.

What you'll do

• Produce. Animate and edit UA video ads for mobile games, from concept to final export, in all the formats and aspect ratios the ad networks need.
• Scale with AI. Run an AI video pipeline that turns one concept into dozens of variations: new hooks, characters, backgrounds, endings, and pacing.
• Localize. Swap text, voice, visuals, and cultural details fast, so one winning creative can run in many markets.
• Iterate. Turn performance feedback from the Creative Producer and UA team into new versions within hours, not days.
• Build playables with AI. Produce and iterate playable ad creatives using an AI-assisted workflow, from concept to testable build, and keep video and playable creatives consistent.
• Improve the pipeline. Test new AI tools and models, document what works, and share workflows that make the whole team faster.

Why Homa

• Exceptional growth. We hire people of outstanding potential, then put them where they can grow fastest.
• Real ownership, early. Your projects will change how Homa operates, and you'll see the results.
• Learn from leadership. You'll work alongside leaders and people who make decisions.
• A high talent bar. Our teams are small and demanding, and the people around you will push you to grow.
• AI at the core. You'll have access to the best AI tools, and you'll help shape how an AI-first company works.

Requirements

• Strong motion design craft in the Adobe suite. Expert in After Effects, comfortable in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Your composition, timing, spacing, easing and readability are solid.
• A proven AI production pipeline. This is mandatory. You already use an AI video stack to produce creatives at volume: fast variations, batch outputs, localization swaps. You're hands-on with tools such as ComfyUI, Flora, Wavespeed, Claude, Grok and Higgsfield, and you can chain them into a repeatable workflow.
• Mobile gaming ad experience. You've produced video ads or UA creatives for mobile games, and you understand hooks, the first 3 seconds, end cards and what makes a creative perform.
• Playable ads, AI-assisted. You can produce and iterate playable creatives with AI, or you have strong knowledge of building playables in an AI-assisted workflow. You understand how playables are structured and what makes them convert.
• High output under tight deadlines. You can handle a heavy weekly volume without losing quality, and you know when good enough is the right call.
• Performance mindset. You read creative data (CTR, IPM, hook rate) and use it to decide what to iterate next. You care about what performs, not just what looks good.
• Autonomy. You deliver with limited feedback, navigate ambiguity, and make smart calls on how to approach each brief without waiting to be told.
• Ownership. You own your output end to end, from brief to final export, and drive it to the finish line without being chased.
• 3D skills, Blender and/or Unity. (Nice to have) Not a must, but a strong plus, especially for game-engine captures, 3D scenes, or support on playable assets.
• English. You read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

Benefits

At Homa, we prioritize talent, energy, and determination over traditional credentials. We’re building a global community of brilliant, driven people who think boldly, act with pragmatism, move fast, and push boundaries. We believe true innovation comes from diverse perspectives, deep collaboration, and curiosity without limits. Our culture is grounded in four core values:

• Humility: We recognise that we are always learning, we can always improve and grow - we stay grounded in a clear view of ourselves.
• Curiosity: We continuously seek the “why” behind the “what” - we explore with purpose and practicality.
• Focus: Our curiosity takes us deeper, not wider - we obsess over the details and let pragmatism guide our attention.
• Ambition: We strive for the best - we don’t settle for “good enough,” - we use common sense to reach higher.
