Mission Software Engineer who owns the full software delivery chain for Anduril's autonomous air systems (Fury, Barracuda) — CI/CD pipelines, build infrastructure, software-in-the-loop test environments, and on-vehicle Kubernetes, including secure delivery into classified/disconnected government systems. Core stack: C++/Rust/Python/Go on Linux with Kubernetes, Git/GitHub.
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) is responsible for autonomous robotics systems like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects. The AD&S Mission Systems Deployment & Infrastructure team owns the path our software takes from a developer's commit to running on a vehicle in the field. That includes our CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure, the software-in-the-loop (SITL) environments engineers rely on to test before deploying to hardware, and the on-vehicle Kubernetes infrastructure that manages software deployed on mission systems. A core part of this role is solving software delivery in environments that don't look like typical cloud deployment and getting builds securely into classified and disconnected government systems where standard internet-based delivery isn't an option. We are looking for engineers who want to own the full delivery chain, from build to test to field deployment, for systems where getting this wrong has real operational consequences.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
3+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure in a production environment
Production-grade software development experience (C++, Rust, Python, Go, or equivalent) in a Linux environment
Deep experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration, including deploying and managing services in constrained or non-standard network environments
Comfort navigating complex, multi-stage delivery pipelines and diagnosing failures across build, test, and deployment stages
Experience with Git & GitHub, including branching/release strategies for shipping software to production
Travel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world
Track record of high ownership and bias for action
Experience delivering software into classified, air-gapped, or otherwise disconnected environments
Familiarity with building and maintaining software-in-the-loop (SITL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test infrastructure
Experience running Kubernetes on constrained or embedded hardware (e.g., k3s or similar lightweight distributions)
Experience with systemd and Linux system-level service management
Experience deploying, debugging, and testing infrastructure on physical systems in both lab and test site environments
Familiarity with artifact repositories, package management, and secure software supply chain practices (e.g., signed builds, provenance tracking)
Familiarity with government reference architectures or accreditation processes relevant to fielding software on DoW systems
Active Secret U.S. security clearance
