Mid-level Java developer modernising enterprise backend systems: migrating Java 8 to 17, transitioning ActiveMQ to RabbitMQ, and designing microservices with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud, Docker and Kubernetes, integrating systems via REST APIs alongside analysts, testers and DevOps engineers.

Join a team modernising backend systems within a microservices architecture. You will work on a Java 8 to Java 17 migration and an ActiveMQ to RabbitMQ transition, alongside analysts, testers and DevOps engineers, with modern tooling and AI in the room.

What you will do:

Develop and maintain Java-based applications at the core of our clients' operations
Modernise legacy systems: Java 8 to Java 17 migration and an ActiveMQ to RabbitMQ transition
Design backend solutions within a microservices environment
Optimise existing code and implement new features
Integrate external and internal systems using REST APIs
Collaborate day to day with analysts, testers and DevOps engineers

What you bring:

2-4 years of Java programming experience
Strong proficiency in Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and microservices architecture
Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM ways of working
Fluent English

Nice to have: Camunda, Angular or React with TypeScript, and experience integrating banking systems.
