With a substantial pipeline of work across the Nordic region, they are strengthening their project teams in Finland and are looking for an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to support the delivery of a major data centre development in Finland.
The Role: Mechanical QA/QC Engineer
As Mechanical QA/QC Engineer, you will take responsibility for mechanical quality assurance and quality control across a major data centre project in Helsinki, Finland. Working closely with the Mechanical Construction Manager, project engineers, subcontractors and commissioning teams, you will ensure mechanical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and project quality requirements. The position will cover mechanical services including HVAC, pipework, cooling systems and associated building services installations, with involvement from installation and inspection through testing, commissioning and final handover.
Must Have Requirements
- Must have previous Mechanical QA/QC experience on large scale construction, data centre, pharmaceutical or industrial projects.
- Proven experience required inspecting mechanical installations and managing QA/QC documentation, ITPs and inspection records.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services, HVAC, pipework and associated systems is required.
- Must be comfortable working on a large construction project in Finland within a structured QA/QC environment.
Preferred Experience
- Data centre or mission critical project experience preferred.
- Previous experience working with a main contractor or major M&E contractor beneficial.
- Experience with digital quality management and construction documentation systems beneficial.
- Previous experience working on European construction projects would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical QA/QC activities across the project and ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications and project quality standards.
- Carry out inspections of mechanical installations including HVAC, pipework, cooling systems and associated building services.
- Prepare, manage and close out Inspection and Test Plans, inspection records and supporting quality documentation.
- Coordinate inspections with mechanical subcontractors, construction management and relevant project stakeholders.
- Identify non-conforming works, raise and track NCRs and ensure corrective actions are completed and properly documented.

- Assist with punch lists, snagging, system completion and compilation of final mechanical handover dossiers.
About You
You will have a strong mechanical background with practical experience of QA/QC on large construction or engineering projects. You should understand how mechanical installations are delivered on site and be comfortable inspecting works, challenging poor quality and working directly with mechanical subcontractors to resolve issues. You will be organised and technically strong, with good attention to detail when managing ITPs, inspection records, NCRs and handover documentation. Experience on data centre projects would be particularly relevant, although candidates coming from pharmaceutical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or other technically demanding M&E environments will also be considered.
