Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer designs, develops and test mechanical systems and components, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Mechanical Design Engineer Essential Functions
- Plan, design, and refine mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for various industries such as automotive, defense and commercial.
- Develop prototypes, conduct simulations, and perform experiments to validate designs and ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
- Work closely with clients, engineers, and manufacturing teams to meet project specifications and resolve technical challenges.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports, including design iterations and test results
- Provide installation guidance, support product lifecycle management (PLM), and ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations. Assist with new product manufacturing processes, product drawings, inspection control plans, 1st article submission, process capability analysis.
- Drive and manage Kaizen events.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw rapid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret mathematical and graphical data.
- Work with abstract and variables to draw conclusions.
- Ability to handle multiple variables at once to aid in problem solving.
Mechanical Design Engineer Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Expertise in SolidWorks, CAD, CAM, and 3D modeling software, along with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing technologies.
- Ability to apply physics, mechanics, and mathematics to solve complex design challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, engineers, and production teams.
- Capacity to develop efficient, functional, and cost-effective mechanical solutions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Mechanical Design Engineer Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position requires you to be onsite daily.
- This position is primarily in an office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. +
