Some marketing jobs give you one channel to manage.
This one gives you two brands to help build.
Hylton-Rodic Law is a growing intellectual property law firm working at the intersection of science, technology, law, and innovation. EPIARX Diagnostics is a growing private pathology practice helping families, healthcare organizations, attorneys, and other professionals find answers when they matter most.
Different industries. Different audiences. Different voices.
And one creative role with a lot of room to make your mark.
We're looking for an emerging marketer and designer with serious creative instincts—someone who doesn't just know how to make things, but has ideas about what should be made and how to make it better.
You might spend one morning developing the visual concept for a life-sciences campaign and the afternoon creating collateral for a new pathology service. You could design a conference campaign, build a newsletter, develop a new sub-brand, reimagine a webpage, turn a technical topic into a scroll-stopping LinkedIn post, create firm swag, or take a rough business-development idea from “What if we...?” to finished campaign.
We will give you context, objectives, feedback, and room to grow.
We do not want to give you every creative answer.
We want someone who can take a rough idea, push it further, and occasionally put something in front of us that makes us stop and think: “You just blew our socks off.”
Not every project. Not every time.
But if the idea of occasionally surprising us with something better than what we asked for sounds like your kind of challenge, keep reading.
Two Organizations. Two Very Different Stories to Tell.
Hylton-Rodic Law (HRL)
HRL is a boutique intellectual property law firm headquartered in Washington, DC. We work with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, university, and life-sciences innovators to protect and commercialize technologies shaping the future of medicine and science.
Our brand is sophisticated, intelligent, polished, creative, and decidedly not stuffy. You'll help us tell the stories behind innovative technologies, our people, our clients, and a law firm we're deliberately building differently.
EPIARX Diagnostics
EPIARX is a modern private pathology practice providing independent autopsy, pathology, consultation, and related services. Our audiences range from families seeking answers to funeral homes, hospitals, attorneys, and healthcare professionals.
The voice is different: clear, compassionate, trustworthy, accessible, and human.
EPIARX is growing its services, referral relationships, and regional presence. You won't simply maintain an established brand. You'll help build what comes next.
Working across both organizations will teach you something enormously valuable: how to understand an audience, switch voices, translate complicated subjects, and create marketing that actually supports growth.
What You'll Actually Do
You'll work across HRL and EPIARX, with priorities shifting as campaigns, events, business-development initiatives, and organizational needs evolve.
You'll help:
- Create original visual concepts, graphics, carousels, social content, and campaigns for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other channels.
- Write, edit, design, and publish newsletters, blogs, website content, email campaigns, and digital communications.
- Turn complicated topics in intellectual property, life sciences, healthcare, and pathology into content people can actually understand—and want to read.
- Create polished print and physical collateral, including brochures, flyers, conference materials, mailers, signage, leave-behinds, business cards, and branded materials.
- Maintain and develop both organizations' Squarespace websites, including content, imagery, layout, landing pages, and new marketing initiatives.
- Support SEO/AIO and digital-content optimization.
- Build marketing calendars and move campaigns from idea ? creation ? review ? publication.
- Help develop brands and sub-brands, including visual concepts, service identities, messaging, taglines, templates, and branded materials.
- Support email campaigns and CRM/marketing data through GoHighLevel.
- Help coordinate conferences, webinars, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and other events.
- Partner with business-development team members on campaigns, presentations, outreach materials, and growth initiatives.
- Coordinate with printers, photographers, designers, and other outside partners when needed.
- Create internal culture materials, welcome items, celebrations, swag, and the occasional project we haven't thought of yet.
And most importantly: Bring ideas.
We don't expect every idea to be used.
We do expect you to have them.
We Can Teach You Our Industries. Bring Us the Creative Instinct.
You do not need to arrive knowing patent law or pathology.
You do need to be curious enough to learn them.
And you need an eye.
You understand typography, composition, hierarchy, imagery, color, spacing, and the details that separate something merely finished from something genuinely designed.
You can start with a blank page—not just a template.
You can take a rough brief, develop a creative direction, make thoughtful choices, and explain why you made them.
You write exceptionally well and understand that words and visuals have to work together.
You notice when something isn't good enough before someone else has to tell you.
You are comfortable receiving detailed feedback, revising your work, killing an idea that isn't working, and coming back with something better.
Your first draft should give us something to react to—not something we have to rescue.
We're not looking for someone who has already mastered everything.
We're looking for talent, taste, curiosity, judgment, drive, and the desire to become exceptional.
