Manager Software Engineering

Do you enjoy working close to cutting‑edge technology? If the answer is yes, imagine stepping into a role where your leadership directly shapes the future of embedded systems, cloud software and user experience. Picture a position where you get to guide passionate engineers — and together explore what’s possible within marine technology.

This is what Humphree can offer you in this exciting opportunity.

We are now looking for a Manager for the Software Engineering Team at Humphree.

The team consists of developers working with embedded software, user interface design, backend and frontend development for our cloud platform, as well as software testers. Together they build the complete software ecosystem that powers Humphree’s world‑leading stabilization solutions.

As Manager for the Software Team, you will lead and develop this diverse group, ensuring that the team thrives, collaborates and continues to deliver high‑quality software that moves the company forward. You will work closely with Humphree’s CTO and be part of the R&D management team.

Key Deliverables

• Lead, support and mentor a multidisciplinary team of software developers and testers
• Build and nurture a high‑performing team culture where people feel motivated, safe and inspired
• Drive continuous improvements in ways of working, processes and collaboration
• Ensure technical direction and alignment across embedded development, cloud services and user interface components
• Secure high software quality throughout the full development chain
• Work closely with product owners and other leaders within R&D to deliver on our technology roadmap

How can you contribute?

You understand that great software is built by great teams — and that leadership is about enabling people to grow, collaborate and succeed. You reflect on challenges from different angles and turn insights into decisions that help both the team and the product move forward.

You have confidence in your own technical background while staying curious and open to new perspectives. You enjoy connecting with people, building relationships and contributing to a positive team atmosphere. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you are comfortable asking for input as well as offering support.

As Humphree is a fast‑moving and innovative company, we believe you enjoy working close to both strategy and hands‑on development questions. You are comfortable switching between a high‑level view and detailed technical discussions when needed.

You are a natural and authentic leader with a coaching mindset. You listen well, communicate clearly and help ideas gain traction.

We believe you have:

• A university degree (MSc or similar) within software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
• A background in software development, preferably with experience in C, C++ and C#
• Experience in leading people — as a manager, team lead or similar
• Experience from or familiarity with agile software development methods
• Strong communication skills and the ability to create trust and engagement around you
