Manager, Delivery Management

Kognic is on a mission to make everything that moves autonomous. Our Delivery Managers sit at the sharp end of that promise: the people who make sure it actually happens for the world’s most demanding automotive and AI customers. We're now looking for our next Kognic leader, ready to own that commitment end to end, leading and developing our team of Delivery Managers who keep our delivery at that same high bar.

Kognic is scaling fast, and the way we lead our deliveries has to scale with it. This is what you will be part of building. You lead our team of Delivery Managers, around 12 people who own the day-to-day across all our accounts. You shape the team and how it works: how the function meets customers and internal stakeholders. You define what good looks like, then hire and coach in that direction. You balance pragmatism in the day to day with the long-term changes that make us stronger over time.

The team works with complex enterprise customers and short turnaround times, which calls for decentralised decision-making and a high degree of autonomy. When delivery is at risk, you own the escalation and its resolution. The path will differ every time, but it always goes through your team, never around them. So the core of the job is to hire and develop the team Kognic needs to execute well. You hire and onboard, and you run performance and salary reviews. You build a team that customers and the rest of Kognic trust with the big moments.

Our customer promise is “the most data for your budget”. As a leader of a critical function in our deliveries, you will have a real impact on our ability to fulfill that promise. You keep a close eye on the budget and margin, both per account and for the company as a whole. You act early to improve outcomes in the short and long term. Succeed here and you have a material impact on how AD and ADAS get developed across the industry.

You report to the VP Operations and join the Operations leadership team, together with leaders of our two other Operations functions, Customer Success and Data Specialists. We set direction together. How your function gets there is yours to lead.

The job will change as the function matures. We are flexible, and you should be too. The role is based in Gothenburg with a hybrid setup possible.

You’re a leader who draws energy from building. When customer escalations, commercial pressure, and your own team's growth all compete for your attention, you stay grounded and decisive.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration/Finance, or similar educational background and/or work experience.

• Experience:

  • You have led a team through major change

  • You have 3+ years of formal leadership and management responsibilities

  • You have experience of delivery to enterprise customers, with a real grip on margin and P&L. Commercial accountability isn’t new territory for you.

• Language skills: Fluent in English, written and spoken.

• Leadership Style: You lead through your team. You empower your team with mandate, the tools and coaching to handle situations themselves. You know what is happening in your team and what’s needed next. You create clarity when things are ambiguous, and you thrive in leading through change.

• Personality: Curious, can-do energy. You don’t wait to be told what to do. You’d rather try something and adjust than wait for the perfect plan. Confident and without ego.

• Nice to have: Experience leading project or delivery managers, working with BPO or supplier relationships, or operating across borders and cultures.

We are in it to win, and have a lot of fun while doing it! We aim to win the most demanding customers in the world: global enterprises with little tolerance for error, in a technology that changes every quarter. That kind of work is complex and interdependent, and no team at Kognic can do it alone. So the people are the point. You will work with around 100 talented and humble colleagues of many nationalities who are kind, honest, and ambitious.

• You grow faster than you thought possible. With an unusual level of transparency during a time of rapid growth, you will both see and contribute to the scale-up journey.

• You are at the forefront of technology in the exciting field of AI, playing a major role in automotive as a whole.

• You get the practical things too: team and office events, parental pay, salary exchange, great health benefits, insurance, place your own pension - to name a few.

From our early days as a pure start-up to our current life as a scale-up, we work in a dynamic environment, which means that every day might be different from the next, but that is exactly how we want it. Kognicians all have a strong desire to explore uncharted territory and a willingness to constantly be learning.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we continuously select and conduct interviews. We do not require a cover letter, but ask you to share your resume and answer a couple of questions in the application.

Kognic was conceived in the curious minds of Daniel Langkilde and Oscar Petersson, two engineering students, who dared to dream big and help machines make sense of our messy, chaotic, and unstructured world. Kognic’s pioneering dataset management solution helps companies accelerate the development of high-performing and trusted AI products, focusing on bringing the most advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) to market.
