AI at BambooHR
At BambooHR, we’re all about setting people free to do great work, and we believe AI is a powerful partner in that mission. We’re leaning into intelligent tools to streamline our workflows, giving us more time for high-impact innovation. We look for curious, forward-thinking people who are ready to explore how AI can elevate their work and help us reimagine the future of HR.
Essential Job Duties
As a Manager, BDR at BambooHR, you won’t just lead an outbound team—you’ll shape the way we think about outbound strategy at BambooHR. You’ll lead and develop a team of Outbound Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to maximize top-of-funnel growth, while also designing and refining the frameworks that drive that success.
This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on building—someone who’s not only executing a playbook but also creating one. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to define how we identify, reach, and engage our ideal customers in meaningful ways.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Owning the holistic outbound strategy—from defining target segments and messaging approaches to setting the long-term vision for how BambooHR drives outbound success.
- Leading and scaling an outbound BDR team to consistently meet or exceed pipeline generation targets.
- Designing and improving outbound practices, cadences, and workflows to increase conversion rates and overall pipeline quality.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with sales and marketing leaders to shape top-of-funnel programs that drive measurable impact.
- Conducting regular 1:1s and team coaching sessions to drive accountability, skill development, and career growth.
- Tracking and reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
- Aligning outbound prospecting efforts with marketing campaigns, messaging, and ideal customer profiles (ICPs).
- Leveraging CRM and sales engagement tools to analyze performance, optimize workflows, and improve predictability of results.
- Partnering with sales leadership to ensure smooth hand-offs of qualified opportunities and strong collaboration between teams.
- Championing a culture of experimentation and iteration, using data and feedback to evolve our approach and scale best practices.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- 4-5+ years of sales or business development experience in the SaaS industry.
- 3–5+ years of outbound BDR/SDR leadership experience with proven success managing prospecting teams.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of outbound sales strategy, cold outreach, and lead qualification best practices.
- Experience using Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft, Gong).
- Proven ability to coach and develop individuals to exceed performance expectations.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- A data-driven mindset and comfort with reporting and analyzing team metrics.
What Will Make Us REALLY Love You
- Experience building or overhauling outbound BDR programs from the ground up.
- Familiarity with demand generation and how outbound efforts complement inbound campaigns.
- Comfort using AI or automation tools to enhance prospecting and productivity.
- Ability to coach team members through objection handling, messaging, and account research.
- Passion for professional development and cultivating a high-performance, supportive team culture.
- A strategic mindset paired with a bias for action—someone who sees the big picture but isn’t afraid to get in the details.
- A results-driven attitude with a strong focus on opportunity generation and pipeline coverage.
- Competitive spirit balanced by a collaborative mindset and high emotional intelligence.
