Job Description & Duties:

The Machine Room Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies for the machine room and quality department, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents. This list is not all-inclusive and additional duties may be assigned based on workload and operational needs.

• Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all mill and department and mill-wide safety policies and procedures. Follow all lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Model safety standards by wearing the required PPE and maintaining a safe and clean working area.
  • Enforce all safety policies and demonstrate personal accountability for safety.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, stop unsafe work, and help remedy technical safety concerns.
  • Complete all necessary safety training.
• Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with Machine Room supervisor and operators to identify and correct process, quality, and safety problems for both paper machines.
  • Complete work orders for malfunctioning equipment that require the maintenance department.
  • Update documentation for the machine room department including SOPs, LOTO sheets, and equipment inspection forms.
  • Develop a safe roll handling program at the winders and in the finishing department.
  • Identify cost savings initiatives.
