The Lifecycle Marketing Manager (CRM & In-App) owns the user journey through our comms, in-app and beyond. Working within the lifecycle goals set with your manager, you'll design the programs and journeys that decide who gets which message, when and where: from onboarding flows and monetization banners and modals to retention journeys and new feature launches. Product Marketing brings the story; you get it to the right user at the right moment and prove what it moved.
You'll build and run our lifecycle programs (mainly in Iterable), use Amplitude and Looker to define audiences and find insights, and connect every send to the activation, conversion and retention it drives.
You'll partner closely with our Desktop, Mobile and Devices Teams, each with its own users, goals and roadmap, and with Product Marketing, Copywriting and Design. Your job is to make sure lifecycle comms serve all three products without stepping on each other. You'll report to the VP of Marketing.
What you'll do 💼
Act as the lifecycle partner for our Desktop, Mobile and Devices teams: gather each team's needs and turn them into lifecycle programs, validated with your manager.
Own lifecycle comms across in-app (banners, modals, notifications) and email: onboarding, monetization campaigns, retention and win-back, and new feature launches.
Design, build, launch and optimize journeys and campaigns in Iterable, from audience logic to triggers, cadence and frequency.
Define and lead audience segmentation and personalization based on user behavior, lifecycle stage and subscription status.
Design and maintain our lifecycle journey map across products and spot the moments where a message can drive activation, conversion and retention.
Turn Product Marketing's messaging into lifecycle comms with Copywriting and Design, adapting it to each audience, stage and channel.
Orchestrate comms across products, applying the prioritization rules agreed with your manager and escalating conflicts when needed. Keep a single source of truth for what's running, so users get one coherent Voicemod experience, not three competing ones.
Partner with Product and Engineering on in-app surfaces that live outside Iterable (hard-coded), so delivery and tracking stay consistent.
Propose and run the lifecycle testing roadmap: Run A/B tests on audiences, timing, channels and formats, measure impact in Amplitude and Looker, and turn insights into next actions.
Contribute and report on lifecycle KPIs and share learnings with Growth, Monetization, Product Marketing and the product mods.
Set and maintain lifecycle standards: QA, naming conventions, templates and flow documentation.
What you'll need ✅
4+ years in lifecycle or CRM marketing, ideally in a B2C app, gaming or subscription product.
Experience designing end-to-end user journeys and solid understanding of the process, from first open to win-back.
Hands-on experience building and running lifecycle programs in a customer engagement platform with email and in-app messaging (Iterable, Braze, Customer.io or similar).
Strong segmentation skills. You think in cohorts, triggers and user states.
Data fluency: comfortable with product analytics (Amplitude or similar) and BI dashboards (Looker or similar) to build audiences, read results and find the "so what."
Experience designing and reading A/B tests.
Experience managing multiple stakeholders, launches and deadlines at once. You can say "not this week" with data to back it up.
Basic HTML/CSS for email and in-app templates.
You QA every send end-to-end (audience, triggers, rendering and tracking), because a great message still flops if it hits the wrong user at the wrong time.
Proficient level of communication in English.
Bonus Points 🦄
Iterable experience.
SQL basics.
Monetization or subscription comms experience (upsell, paywalls).
Mobile push and in-app messaging.
Hardware or e-commerce lifecycle comms (post-purchase, setup, activation).
Localizing comms across languages.
Previous experience in the gaming industry, or a genuine interest in gaming, streaming and creator culture.
