Learning Experience Designer

What does it take to build a $10 billion brand from scratch? Show up. Solve problems. And care. Every product, customer, and decision matters, and always has to the people who built Skechers. This is one of the great growth stories in consumer brand history. From a small Manhattan Beach startup in 1992 to the world's third-largest footwear brand, with 5,200+ stores and products in over 180 countries.

Skechers has built its success on three core strengths: product innovation, supply chain excellence, and unmatched speed-to-market. In practice, that means we move fast here. From a first sketch to a store shelf in a fraction of the time it takes others. While much of the industry fights for single-digit growth, Skechers has delivered double digits, year after year.

That kind of growth creates real opportunity. More stores opening, more markets, and more opportunities for people to grow. Skechers is built on people who move fast, think big, and take ownership on a salesfloor, in a warehouse, and at headquarters alike. People who care deeply and act with purpose, wherever they show up to do it. If that's how you operate, we'd like to meet you.

About the Role

Learning at Skechers is not a support function. It is a growth driver. With thousands of employees across retail floors, warehouses, and headquarters, the distance between a well-trained team and an undertrained one shows up directly in performance and results.

You will partner with the Learning Team and company leaders to identify capability gaps, build programs that close them, and measure whether they worked. The scope runs wide, from frontline retail onboarding to leadership development, to digital e-learning initiatives that are built for scale. You will work with HR, business leaders, and subject matter experts to design curriculum that reflects how Skechers actually operates.

This is a role for someone who builds with intention, sweats the craft of instructional design, and believes a well-made learning experience can change how a business performs. If you get more excited by a blank course template than a finished deck, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose before you build. Conduct structured assessments to identify performance, skill, and knowledge gaps across the organization. Your analysis shapes where the business invests in development, so rigor here matters as much as the content you eventually create.
• Design curriculum people actually use. Build programs and courses for audiences from individual contributors to senior leaders. Partner with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to turn complex knowledge into clear, engaging experiences across instructor-led, digital, and blended formats.
• Own the tools. Develop e-learnings, design assets in Canva, and troubleshoot web-based modules independently. LMS administration and basic HTML/CSS are a plus.
• Run programs that develop people over time. Manage ongoing initiatives including onboarding, leadership and skills development. These are not one-time launches. They require consistent coordination, iteration, and a direct connection to talent planning across the company.
• Measure what you build. Establish evaluation methods for content, delivery, engagement, and outcomes. Use performance metrics to validate knowledge transfer and ROI, including tools rolled out by HRIS partners as part of the company's learning and performance management infrastructure.
• Facilitate when it counts. Step in to deliver training sessions as needed. You do not need to be a career facilitator, but you need to hold a room and adjust when something is not landing.
• Build influence across the org. Partner with HR and business leaders to surface needs, recommend solutions, and get them deployed. Your ability to influence without authority will determine how far your programs actually reach.

What You'll Bring

• 3 or more years in learning and development, with hands-on experience designing, building, and delivering both instructor-led and digital training. The right candidate has a portfolio that shows real instructional craft, not just facilitation history.
• Retail, hospitality, or service industry experience. You know how learning lands differently on a salesfloor than in a corporate classroom. First-hand design experience for retail environments including product knowledge, client experience, leadership, and operations is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Articulate and working knowledge of Canva, LMS platforms, and basic HTML/CSS.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Certifications in Instructional Design, Design Thinking, or Kirkpatrick Measurement are preferred.
• Strong writing skills, including experience writing in a brand voice. Your content represents Skechers to its own people. Clarity, consistency, and personality are the standard.
• The confidence to work consultatively at every level. You will influence executives, collaborate with frontline managers, and navigate competing priorities. Credibility and listening skills are not optional here.
• A resourceful, results-driven work style. You manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing momentum. You bring structure to ambiguity and follow through without needing to be chased.

Pay range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000/year USD.
