Description

Are you ready for your next challenge?

We have a product that is already awesome... at least that's what our customers keep telling us, and our customers are our focus in everything that we do!

We're at the point where we have so many high-value things we want to bring to market that we need to boot up a second engineering stream to make that happen. We need someone who can own this new stream of work and add value to everything you touch.

About us

SpacetoCo is like Airbnb for community spaces. We help councils and hosts list and manage venue bookings across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

About you

We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer who knows how to build and also wants to help others build.

If you are currently leading a squad, or have had a taste for leading builds and want to do it more, then we want to hear from you. This role will start on our existing squad, then move into a Squad Lead position on your own squad. Always building and leading work.

What You'll Be Accountable For

• Delivering Valuable Features: Lead, build, launch, and iterate on secure, fast, and reliable software.
• Code Ownership: Maintain clean, testable code that runs well and is monitored in production.
• Mentorship: Help guide intermediate devs and set strong tech standards.

Who Fits This Role

• Collaborator: You work well with others to shape a feature, break it down, share the workload, and get feedback.
• Owner: You ship it, and you own it, not putting it down until it's proven to work.
• Self-driven: You spot what needs doing and execute without hand-holding.
• Ego-free: You care about the best idea, take constructive feedback well, and back up decisions with facts.
• Pragmatic: You balance speed with quality, and know when to say "no" to unnecessary scope.

What You Need

• 5+ years in product-focused software teams (ideally SaaS).
• Experience leading work from inception to monitoring its success
• Solid hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, and MongoDB.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks like Vue, Nuxt, or React.
• A proven track record of shipping real products you can show us.

What's next?

If any of this sounds interesting to you, we want to hear from you and would love a chat. Don't feel like you need to tick every single box, because boxes are boring.

Company Overview

SpacetoCo is more than software - it's how we build thriving communities and a supportive, inclusive and diverse society. We help connect spaces with the people who need them, making community access simple, seamless, and sustainable.
