Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents, including supplier and customer contracts, employment-related documentation, and partnership agreements.
- Provide practical legal advice and support to management and internal departments on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
- Support corporate governance activities and maintain relevant company documentation, including corporate resolutions, internal policies, and records.
- Monitor changes in applicable legislation and regulations, assess their potential impact on the company, and keep relevant stakeholders informed.
- Support the protection and administration of intellectual property rights, including registration and maintenance of IP assets where required.
- Cooperate with external law firms and legal advisors in Slovakia and abroad, including coordination of legal matters and obtaining specialist legal opinions when necessary.
- Provide legal support for domestic and cross-border transactions, business projects, and negotiations with international partners.
- Work closely with internal departments such as Production, Procurement, Sales, Finance, and HR to ensure compliance with legal requirements and contractual obligations.
- Identify and assess legal risks related to business activities, contracts, and projects, and recommend practical solutions to minimise potential exposure.
- Prepare legal opinions, internal guidance, and other legal documentation as required.
Requirements
- University degree in Law.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience, either as an in-house lawyer or within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law, with a solid understanding of applicable Slovak legislation.
- Good understanding of international legal principles and regulations relevant to commercial and cross-border business activities.
- Familiarity with international conventions and treaties, including the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), is an advantage.
- Ability to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and other legal documentation.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- English proficiency at minimum B2 level, including the ability to work confidently with legal documentation and terminology.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and provide practical legal solutions to internal stakeholders.
- Business-oriented and pragmatic approach, with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical solutions.
- Previous experience in an international or multinational environment is an advantage.
- Experience in the automotive or defence industry is a strong advantage.
- Experience with international negotiations, cross-border transactions, or multilingual legal documentation is an advantage.
