Who are we and why should you care?

Teamleader is a SaaS scale-up born in 2012 in Ghent, Belgium, and part of the Visma Group since 2022. Our mission? To make work easier, not harder, for small and medium-sized businesses.

Here’s what we bring to the table:

• Teamleader Focus: the all-in-one tool that helps small businesses optimise CRM, projects, and invoicing.

• Teamleader One: the go-to e-invoicing software that self-employed pros can count on.

We’ve also been growing smarter through strategic acquisitions:

• Teamleader Orbit (2019): helping medium-sized agencies thrive and scale.

• Vectera (2022): powering seamless customer meetings.

• Dexxter (2024): making financial admin a breeze for freelancers.

We Are Looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to Join us

In April 2026, Teamleader, Yuki and AdminPulse merged their operations into one business unit: WorkSmarterBU. Three companies, 11 legal entities, multiple products, one legal team that centralises under a single CFO.

As a Legal Counsel, you will ensure compliance, manage contracts, and provide strategic legal guidance across two dynamic organisations within the Visma group: Teamleader and Yuki. In this hybrid role, you’ll split your time between the two companies.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts across the full lifecycle - customer and vendor agreements, partnerships, DPAs, and service agreements - including contested terminations and escalated negotiations with enterprise counterparties.

• Provide legal support for strategic projects, including pricing, product changes, and AI integration.

• Ensure GDPR compliance and manage data protection activities.

• Own regulatory compliance beyond GDPR: NIS2, the EU Data Act, the EU AI Act, and Belgian implementing law, translating new regulation into concrete product and Terms of Service changes.

• Manage disputes and pre-litigation matters end-to-end: damages claims, insurer notifications, correspondence with opposing counsel, and coordination with external law firms.

• Lead AI governance: assess and approve AI vendors and tools against group policy, draft internal AI usage guidelines, and advise product and go-to-market teams on the responsible deployment of AI features (including meeting-recording and LLM-based tools).

• Maintaining existing legal processes while also setting up new processes from scratch to support evolving business needs.

• Oversee corporate housekeeping and respond to day-to-day legal inquiries.

• Manage intellectual property: trademark portfolio strategy, oppositions, and instructing external counsel where needed.

Why others chose Teamleader: we're lively, not corporate

We have the energy and boldness of a start-up and the expertise and pragmatism of a scale-up. The result: a team of both young and seasoned professionals led by supportive and approachable managers who give recognition and rewards for hard work. You’ll be working in a fast-paced tech environment with open feedback culture and room for initiatives as well as ideas. You’ll have plenty of room to apply your personality, express yourself, and impact our course of action with your insights or ideas.

On top of that, you’ll get:

• An extensive training budget.

• A hybrid working model: a pleasant mix of office and home working.

• A personal tooling budget, to make working from home as comfortable as from our offices.

• Daily budget-friendly in-house prepared lunch and dinner options (only in our Ghent office), as well as Friyays and numerous sport initiatives!

• 32 holidays on top of the standard public ones! (based on full-time employment).

• Our long-lasting dedication to employee well-being, just take a look at our career page and Instagram to see how we keep the Team(leader) spirit going.

We value diversity

Our ambition is to build and sell a product that helps everyone everywhere (starting with Europe) to work smarter, so we want our team to reflect that. We believe that a diverse, inclusive working environment is crucial to realise that ambition, so we’re committed to continue to build and cherish a culture where every colleague feels welcome, appreciated and heard.

You’d be a great fit for this role if you:

• Have an LLB or equivalent law degree (with a focus on Belgian Law), eligible to practice law in Belgium.

• Have at least 2 years of experience in a legal role for the Belgian market, experience within a SaaS or technology company is an advantage!

• Have experience with GDPR-related matters (a DPO certificate is a plus). Familiarity with NIS2, the Data Act, or the AI Act is a distinct asset

• Are dedicated, stress-resilient and highly organised. You have an eye for detail and don’t mind deadlines.

• Love working in a challenging and flexible environment, having a variety of tasks and working in a team as well as independently.

• Have excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

• Are professionally proficient in English and Dutch.

• Hybrid working: You’ll work from both our Ghent and Antwerp offices every week, with a minimum of 3 office days per week in total. The exact split between Ghent and Antwerp is flexible.
